How to wear diapers for newborns

Newborn babies will wear diapers, but for novice and inexperienced mothers, wearing diapers becomes a headache because the material, size, and color of diapers will affect the baby's comfort. The baby's skin is relatively delicate when it is just born. If the diapers are not used properly, it is easy to hurt the baby and cause allergic reactions. So what is the correct way to use diapers?

First, you need to wash your hands, and then prepare all the items, including wet wipes or wet towels. If the baby's skin is sensitive, it is recommended to use wet water or gauze to clean it.

Open a new diaper and place the half with the waist tape under the baby's dirty diaper, making sure the top of the new diaper is at the baby's waist.

Open and fold the waistband of the dirty diaper to prevent it from sticking to your baby's skin. Grasp the baby's ankles with one hand and gently lift them up. Use the other hand to fold the dirty diaper in half under the baby's butt with the clean side facing up to prevent the baby's dirty butt from soiling the clean diaper to be replaced.

Clean your baby's front with baby wipes, cloth, or gauze. After wiping, let your baby's bottom dry naturally or pat it dry with a clean cloth. (Warm tip: If the baby is a girl, be sure to wipe from front to back (towards the buttocks), which helps prevent bacterial infection.)

Keep your baby's bottom dry. Therefore, you should check your baby's diapers regularly and change them in time. Pull the front of the new diaper up over your baby's tummy.

Make sure the diaper between the baby's legs is as flat as possible to make the baby as comfortable as possible. If the diaper bunches up and gets wrinkled there, it will be uncomfortable for your baby and his skin may get chafed.

Glue the waistband stickers at both ends of the diaper. But be careful not to make it too tight so as not to squeeze the baby. At the same time, be careful not to let the waist patch stick to the baby's skin.

Precautions

Since the newborn's umbilical cord has not fallen off, be careful not to let the diaper cover the umbilical cord stump. If your baby is a boy, make sure his penis is facing down so he is less likely to pee in the top of his diaper.
