Which is better for pharyngitis treatment, medication or diet therapy?

Pharyngitis is a common disease that often occurs in people who talk a lot. Teachers are the most typical patients. In life, many patients will choose medication for treatment, but from the clinical effect point of view, diet therapy is very effective in treating pharyngitis. For example, almond and pear soup, duck egg and mint soup, loofah nectar drink, verbena and mung bean honey drink, etc. are all good choices.

1. Almond and pear soup

Ingredients: 10 grams of almonds, 1 pear, 30 grams of rock sugar.

Method: Cut the peeled and cored pear into small pieces and put them in a bowl with almonds and rock sugar. Add a little water and steam it in a steamer for about an hour. Eat the pear and drink the soup once a day. This prescription has significant effects on dryness, itching and slight pain in the throat.

2. Duck Egg and Mint Soup

Ingredients: 1 to 2 duck eggs, 30 grams of fresh mint, and appropriate amounts of salt and MSG.

Method: First add appropriate amount of water into the pot, beat in the duck eggs after boiling, add mint, salt and MSG when half cooked, boil for a while and eat the eggs and drink the soup. Take 1 dose daily for 5 to 7 days. This prescription is effective for treating dryness, itching and congestion in the throat.

3. Loofah Nectar

Ingredients: 20 grams each of fresh loofah flowers and honey.

Method: Wash the loofah flowers, tear them into small pieces, put them in a teacup with a lid, add appropriate amount of boiling water to brew, simmer for 15 minutes, add honey, stir well and drink frequently while hot, 1 to 2 doses per day. This prescription is very effective for treating congestion, swelling and hoarseness in the throat.

4. Verbena and Mung Bean Honey Drink

Ingredients: 50 grams of fresh verbena, 30 grams each of mung beans and honey.

Method: Wash the mung beans and verbena. Tie the verbena into two small bundles with thread, put them into the pot together with the mung beans, add water and simmer over low heat for about 1 hour. When the mung beans are soft, remove from the heat, remove the verbena, add honey while it is still hot, stir well, drink the soup and eat the beans, take one dose a day for several days. This prescription is effective for dry throat, burning sensation and hoarseness.
