The cervical nuchal ligament is a group of ligaments at the back of the human neck. Its main function is to maintain the stability of the neck posture and limit excessive flexion of the neck. Calcification of the nuchal ligament is generally believed to be caused by neck trauma, strain (such as long-term work with the head down) and cervical vertebrae degeneration. Due to the local calcification of the nuchal ligament, the cervical spine can be braked and stability increased, thus helping to slow down the progression of cervical spondylosis. If calcification of the nuchal ligament has occurred, you should try to avoid overstraining the neck and excessive or excessive exercise, and keep your neck upright or slightly tilted back when working.
