What's wrong with my butt hurting

In people's daily lives, many people suffer from buttock pain. There are many reasons for this situation. It may be because people sit for too long, it may be caused by some anal diseases such as sinusitis and hemorrhoids, or it may be caused by problems with the sciatic nerve. In the face of this situation, people need to pay special attention. The following is a detailed introduction to what causes buttock pain.

Some people experience buttock pain and numbness due to long-term sitting. When such conditions occur, you must be cautious about lumbar spondylosis and sciatica.

Buttock pain mostly refers to pain in the anus and around the anus and rectum, which is mainly seen in anal fissures, anal sinusitis, extravascular hemorrhoids, paraanal abscesses, external hemorrhoids, internal hemorrhoids and foreign bodies in the anus, all of which may cause buttock pain. Among them, anal fissure is the most common. The pain caused by anal fissure is mostly cyclical, occurring during or after defecation, mainly due to the stimulation of feces to the expansion of the ulcer fissure. The pain is usually paroxysmal burning or knife-like pain, which can last for several minutes and will be relieved after the stool passes. In addition, anal sinusitis may also cause buttocks pain, which is usually mild pain and heaviness. During bowel movements, the stool presses on the inflamed anal sinus, causing burning pain in the anus. Thrombosed external hemorrhoids may also cause buttock pain. In mild cases, there is a foreign body sensation, which is often accompanied by swelling and pain.

Sitting for a long time will compress and narrow the blood vessels in your lower limbs, causing poor blood circulation. Because the arteries are deeper and have thicker walls, the impact on the veins is relatively more obvious. Long-term ischemia of the nerves will cause sensory impairment, so you will feel numbness. The pain comes from staying in the same posture for a long time, and the ischial tuberosity continuously compresses the muscles underneath, causing pain.

The more severe the sciatica patients experience, the more severe the symptoms will be, including knife-like pain in the scoliosis, decreased sensation on the lateral side of the calf and dorsum of the foot, loose gluteal muscle tone, weakened or absent Achilles tendon reflex, and even paralysis. The symptoms of sciatica are mostly stiffness and discomfort in the lower back, brief pain in the lower back and lower limbs when walking or moving, which can gradually develop into severe burning or knife-like pain, radiating along the sciatic nerve. Sciatica patients may experience pain from the waist and buttocks directly to the thigh, posterior and lateral side of the calf and the lateral side of the foot.
