The hazards of artificial stone

The hazards of artificial stone

Artificial stone is very common in our lives. Many tables that we use in our daily lives are made of artificial stone. Artificial stone contains a large amount of chemical substances, and the content of many chemical substances far exceeds the range that the human body can withstand. Moreover, if you smell the artificial stone carefully, you will easily smell a very pungent smell. So, what are the hazards of artificial stone?

1. The hazards of artificial stone

At present, in the market, quite a few artificial stone slabs contain excessive amounts of harmful substances such as benzene, formaldehyde, lead, organic acids, etc. A common feature of these slabs is that they have a pungent chemical odor (especially during the processing process), and the color is unnatural chemical color. This inferior artificial stone slab containing formaldehyde and benzene will emit a pungent odor during cutting. After the slabs are consumed, processed and formed, excessive formaldehyde and benzene will still remain: formaldehyde and benzene will volatilize discontinuously within 3-5 years. The volatilization of benzene and formaldehyde and contact with heavy metals will directly contaminate imported food. This harmful substance not only passes through the human respiratory system but also directly enters the digestive system, and the degree and speed of toxicity are more significant.

2. What is artificial stone?

Artificial stone generally refers to artificial marble and artificial granite, among which artificial marble is more widely used. It has the characteristics of light weight, high strength, acid resistance, pollution resistance, multiple varieties, simple production process, and easy construction. Its economy and selectivity are superior to natural stone finishing materials. Artificial stone is generally divided into cement-type artificial stone, resin-type artificial stone, composite artificial stone, sintered artificial stone, etc.

3. Advantages of artificial stone

1. Because artificial stone countertops are artificial stones, they are more resistant to impact, bending, compression, and penetration than other stones, and they are also very resistant to wear, acid, and high temperature.

2. Artificial stone countertops have a wide variety of patterns, can be formed as a whole, and can be repeatedly polished and innovated;

3. If you think the artificial stone countertop is too short or too narrow, it doesn’t matter. It can be seamlessly bonded at any length, and there will be no trace at the bonding point;

4. Since there are no pores on the surface of artificial stone countertops, oil, water stains, etc. are not easy to enter the interior. The dirt on the surface can be simply wiped clean with a damp cloth and detergent, so it has strong anti-fouling ability.
