Why does my head sweat a lot when I sleep?

Normally, adults do not often sweat when they sleep, but many children often sweat a lot on their heads when they sleep. In this case, it is necessary to consider whether it is caused by too many quilts or calcium deficiency in the body. Usually, you should take your children to the hospital for examination, engage in more outdoor sports, and supplement some trace elements.

Why do children sweat while sleeping? It is normal for babies to sweat a lot when sleeping, because their sweat glands are well developed and their growth and development are vigorous. The secretion of sweat glands is controlled by the autonomic nervous system (vagus nerve). After falling asleep, the vagus nerve becomes excited, causing excessive sweating, usually more on the head and face, but it will subside within one or two hours after falling asleep.

It is common for babies to sweat during sleep, and it is not always a symptom of weakness or illness. Many mothers think that their babies are weak and therefore sweat constantly. In fact, a considerable number of babies suffer from physiological hyperhidrosis. Physiological hyperhidrosis is more common in the head and neck, often occurring within half an hour after falling asleep, and sweating stops in about an hour.

Babies who sweat a lot while sleeping do not need treatment. If accompanied by symptoms such as easy fright, inactivity, bone deformities, etc., rickets should be considered. Appropriate examinations should be done to confirm the condition and active treatment should be given, such as a reasonable diet, increased nutrition, vitamin supplements, appropriate increase in outdoor activities, and vitamin D and calcium supplements.
