Licking here with tongue, tragedy happened

Angular cheilitis

The climate is dry in spring, the secretion of sebaceous glands decreases, and the oral mucosa is relatively tender. Many people experience chapped lips, cracks, bleeding, and pain at the corners of the mouth, which is medically known as angular cheilitis. There are few varieties of vegetables and fruits in spring, which leads to insufficient intake of vitamins in the body, especially vitamin B2, causing the occurrence of vitamin B deficiency angular cheilitis. After suffering from angular cheilitis, people often lick their lips with their tongue. They feel "comfortable" after licking, but the saliva soon evaporates and they lick again. Because the lips are rich in blood vessels, they are conducive to the reproduction of microorganisms, which aggravates the symptoms of angular cheilitis. The corners of the mouth will be particularly painful when talking and eating.

For angular cheilitis, first of all, we should strengthen nutrition and pay attention to dietary balance

Eat more foods rich in vitamin B2, such as dairy products, animal offal, and soy products. In addition, you should be careful to eat less food that has been heated for a long time at high temperature, because the chemical properties of most water-soluble vitamins such as riboflavin are very unstable and can be easily destroyed by various factors. For example, eating hot pot requires cooking food at high temperature for a long time, and most of the vitamins in it are destroyed. If you eat such food, the amount of vitamin B2 that the human body can absorb will be greatly reduced, or even eliminated. Spicy foods such as chili peppers will increase the body's metabolic rate, thereby increasing the consumption of vitamin B2. Alcohol can also affect the absorption rate of vitamin B2 in the intestines. Therefore, people who drink alcohol for a long time or in large quantities should pay special attention to supplementing vitamin B2. To prevent drying out, be careful not to lick it. You can apply erythromycin ointment or anti-cracking oil on the corners of your mouth, or you can apply honey to the affected area three times a day. If the symptoms are more severe, you can take vitamin C and vitamin B2 orally. The inflammatory reaction of sore mouth corners is not caused by bacterial infection. Be careful not to take antibiotics at will. If a concurrent infection occurs, you should take medication under the guidance of a doctor.
