Prostate cancer is a malignant tumor in urology, which is common in middle-aged and elderly men and those with a family history of the disease. In addition to active treatment, this disease also requires daily care. Many people are not very clear about the precautions for prostate cancer. Let us take a closer look at the relevant knowledge in this area. 1. Closely observe changes in the patient's vital signs: The patient will be continuously monitored for 24 hours after the operation. At this time, the nursing staff should observe the patient's breathing, blood pressure, pulse, electrocardiogram, etc. The nursing staff should keep records and report any abnormalities to the doctor immediately. 2. Guide the patient's position: Immediately after the operation, the prostate cancer patient has not yet awakened from the anesthesia. At this time, assist the patient to rest in a supine position and turn his head to one side to prevent the patient from aspiration and suffocation. After the patient wakes up from anesthesia and the blood pressure stabilizes, he should take a semi-sitting position, which is conducive to lung expansion and drainage. 3. Care of drainage tube: After surgery, prostate cancer patients routinely have indwelling urinary catheters and retropubic drainage tubes. Care should be taken to keep the patency of each tube unobstructed to prevent the tubes from falling off, twisting or becoming blocked. Pay attention to the color and amount of the drainage fluid. Generally, it is normal for the drainage fluid to be slightly reddish or light yellow, and the daily amount is roughly constant. The drainage fluid from the retropubic drainage tube is bloody, less than 300 ml per day and decreases day by day. 4. Genital care: First of all, attention should be paid to the hygiene of the reproductive organs. Prostate cancer patients should frequently clean their external genitalia to prevent bacteria from infecting the wound, and should change underwear frequently to prevent the growth of bacteria. For patients who have recovered to a certain stage after surgery and are able to have sex, their spouses should also pay attention to the hygiene of the genitals to prevent bacteria hidden in the female vulva from entering the male urethra during sexual intercourse, invading the prostate and causing prostatitis or even recurrence of prostate cancer. Diet care is also very important. A reasonable diet is conducive to the healing of prostate cancer wounds. Fasting is routinely required for the first three days after surgery. During this period, attention should be paid to daily cleaning of the mouth of prostate cancer patients. Warm water can be used to rinse the mouth to prevent oral infection. In life, eat more fish/beans and vegetables. The isoflavones in soybeans can reduce the destructive effects of male hormones and inhibit and kill cancer cells. |
