How long does it take for a prosthetic rhinoplasty to return to a natural look?

Postoperative care after rhinoplasty is also very important, because rhinoplasty requires a healing process, just like making an incision in our body and suturing it. Postoperative care is very important, because if it is not properly cared for, the surgical site is prone to redness and swelling, and additional extraction may be required. So how long will it take for rhinoplasty to recover naturally?

1. Most of the incisions in prosthetic rhinoplasty surgery are suspended on the inner edge of the nostrils. The incisions are hidden and almost no scars are visible. There will be noticeable swelling after the operation, which will subside in about three days. The stitches are usually removed 5-7 days after the operation. The swelling is more obvious in the first 2-3 days, but it will not affect your normal work and life during this period.

2. Generally speaking, prosthetic rhinoplasty can restore the natural appearance in one to two weeks, and fully recover after two months. The specific recovery time has a lot to do with the patient's personal qualities and personal care. If you want to shorten the recovery time, you not only need to actively cooperate with the doctor's treatment, but also do a good job of post-rhinoplasty care.

Postoperative care after rhinoplasty

1. Apply antibiotic ointment to the wound after prosthetic rhinoplasty. If it is exposed and not bandaged, there will be a small amount of bleeding, which can be gently wiped off with a sterilized cotton swab. Do not let the wound get wet to avoid infection.

2. Rest in a semi-recumbent position after the operation to facilitate blood circulation. Do not lower your head on the first day to prevent bleeding. You can eat liquid food on the second and third days, but do not eat irritating food.

3. The wound will stop bleeding within 3 hours after rhinoplasty surgery. If blood scab accumulates in the wound, it can be gently washed away with 3% hydrogen peroxide within 24-48 hours of surgery, then cleaned again with saline and applied a small amount of ointment.
