Early warning signs of breast cancer

In order to detect breast cancer early, it is necessary for female friends to pay attention to and understand some early warning signs of breast cancer. The early warning signs of breast cancer are mainly manifested in the following aspects:

1. Breast lumps

A lump grows in the breast, sometimes without obvious symptoms, and patients often discover it when dressing, bathing, or doing self-examination.

2. Breast pain

Some patients may experience breast pain, tenderness, dull pain, or tingling

3. Nipple retraction

As the lump gradually grows larger, it invades the base of the breast and pulls the nipple inward, which is clinically called "inverted nipple".

4. Nipple bleeding

Bloody discharge from the nipple is often a manifestation of breast duct carcinoma and should be checked by a doctor to be differentiated from benign lesions such as intraductal papilloma.

5. Ulceration

Skin erosion or ulcers in the nipple and areola area are often manifestations of eczematous cancer.

6. "Cellulite" skin

When the lump adheres to the skin, the skin becomes edematous due to poor lymphatic drainage, making the lump appear like an orange peel.

7. Asymmetric breasts

When the mass increases in size or adheres to the chest wall, the affected breast will become different from the other side in size, shape, etc.

8. Swollen axillary lymph nodes

When the axillary lymph nodes are large, you may feel a squeezing sensation in the armpit, or feel a swelling protruding from the armpit when you raise your arm.

9. Symptoms of inflammatory breast cancer

The breasts are obviously enlarged, the skin is red and swollen, and the disease progresses rapidly. This is a unique manifestation of inflammatory mastalgia. It is sometimes easily misdiagnosed as mastitis or breast abscess, and anti-inflammatory treatment is ineffective.
