Application of chemotherapy drugs for bone cancer

Chemotherapy is one of the commonly used treatments for bone cancer, which mainly includes drugs such as alkylating agents, antimetabolites, antibiotics, alkaloids and hormones. Each drug has different effects and should be selected according to the nature of the bone cancer.

1. Alkylating agents mainly include nitrogen mustard hydrochloride, nitrogen mustard oxide, cyclophosphamide, N-formyl sarcoma and thiotepa, among which nitrogen mustard hydrochloride and nitrogen mustard oxide are effective for reticulum cell sarcoma. Cyclophosphamide is effective for undifferentiated reticulum cell sarcoma, reticulum cell sarcoma and multiple myeloma. N-formyl sarcoma is effective for bone metastasis of seminoma and primary myeloma. Thiotepa is effective for bone metastasis of ovarian or breast cancer.

2. Antimetabolite drugs mainly include 5-fluorouracil, urethane, etc. Among them, 5-fluorouracil is effective for bone metastasis of intestinal cancer, and urethane is effective for multiple myeloma.

3. Antibiotics include dactinomycin and orthomycin, which are mainly used for reticulum cell sarcoma, undifferentiated reticulum cell sarcoma and rhabdomyosarcoma.

4. Colchicine preparations are alkaloids and are effective against bone metastasis of breast cancer.

5. Hormone drugs can be divided into androgens, estrogens, cortical hormones, etc. Androgens are mainly used for bone metastasis of breast cancer, estrogens can be used for bone metastasis of prostate cancer, and cortical hormones are used for multiple myeloma and bone metastasis of breast cancer.
