Treatment of advanced esophageal cancer

Treatment of advanced esophageal cancer

I am a 76-year-old male esophageal cancer patient. I was diagnosed with advanced esophageal cancer in a local hospital in October 2011. I have difficulty eating. Are there any good treatments?

Advanced esophageal cancer can cause complete esophageal obstruction, which can make it difficult to eat or even drink water. This condition is often seen as a sign that the disease has lost its value and active treatment measures are no longer taken.

In fact, the complete obstruction that initially appears in advanced esophageal cancer is not caused by the growth of cancerous tissue that fills the esophagus, but by the necrosis and shedding of tumor tissue after it grows to a certain extent, as well as local tissue congestion and edema, which causes severe esophageal stenosis and loss of elasticity, coupled with the exudation of a large amount of mucus and the retention of esophageal residues, thus forming a virtual obstruction of the esophagus. At this time, we should seize the last opportunity for treatment and actively treat it, so that we can still achieve the goal of improving the quality of life and prolonging life!

In the late stage of esophageal cancer, traditional surgery and chemotherapy are no longer effective. At this time, medical experts will use interventional therapy to treat patients and have achieved great success.

Interventional treatment can quickly relieve the symptoms caused by esophageal cancer and cardia cancer: cough, hoarseness, pain when swallowing, swallowing obstruction, dyspnea, weight loss, hemoptysis, chest tightness, chest pain, fever, vomiting, reflux food, reflex pain in lesions, etc., even for patients in the middle and late stages who cannot undergo surgery, cannot undergo radiotherapy or chemotherapy, have postoperative recurrence, and have many complications.
