Where is the human hip joint located

Bones are an important part of the human body, and joints are important tissues that connect different bones. There are many joints in our body, and the hip joint is one of them. The hip joint is composed of three parts: the pubic bone, the ischium and the hip bone, and has a certain impact on a person's overall coordination ability. Next, I will introduce to you the structure, function and other related knowledge of the hip joint!

1. Structure of the Hip Joint

The hip joint is a ball-and-socket joint consisting of the spherical femoral head and the concave acetabulum.

The acetabulum is an inverted hemispherical shape. It is composed of three parts: the pubis, ischium, and hip bone. The top of the hip joint accounts for 2/5 of the acetabulum area and is composed of the ilium. The posterior wall accounts for 2/5 of the acetabulum and is composed of the ischium. The anterior wall accounts for 1/5 of the acetabulum area and is composed of the pubis.

The femoral head is round, occupying about 2/3 of the sphere. It is completely covered by articular cartilage. There is a small depression on the inner side, called the femoral head fossa, which is the attachment point of the round ligament of the femoral head. There are a small number of blood vessels inside, through which the femoral head can obtain a small amount of blood supply.

There are two protrusions at the lower part of the femoral neck, the greater trochanter on the outside and the lesser trochanter on the inside, with many muscles attached on and near them.

2. Which part is the hip joint

The hip joint is what we often call the hip bone, which is the part that connects the thigh bone and the buttocks. It is slightly lower than the waist and can support the human body.

3. What is the function of the hip joint?

The main function of the hip joint is to bear weight, transferring the weight of the body to the lower limbs. At the same time, it can perform a considerable range of flexion, extension, adduction, abduction, internal rotation, external rotation and circumduction, and has the function of absorbing and reducing shock. It is located in the middle of the body and has a special structure. When the whole body exercises vigorously, the hip joint structure can adapt to the huge force generated by the leverage of the bones.

4. How to make the hip joint more flexible

1. Hip Circle: Place your hands on your waist, stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, and push your hip joint outward to repeatedly make large circles. Note that the circle should gradually increase in size.

2. Sitting knee bounce: Sit on the ground with the soles of your feet facing each other and as close to your crotch as possible. Keep your upper body as straight as possible, support your knees with your hands, and bounce up and down rhythmically (mainly press down).

3. Vertical Angle Pose: The basic posture is the same as above. After straightening the upper body, bend the hips forward and hold for a while after reaching the limit. Note that you should flex your hips and not arch your back.

4. Sit cross-legged with your body bent over: Sit cross-legged on the ground, with your legs alternating and your hips and knees pressed against the ground. Slowly bend forward until most of your upper body is pressed against the ground and your hips cannot be lifted.
