Symptoms of nerve damage caused by wisdom tooth extraction

We often say that we should smile to everyone we meet, but if our teeth are not in good condition and our smile does not look good, then there is no point in that. Good teeth can not only help us taste delicious food, but also leave a good impression on others. For those who have wisdom teeth, it is really painful. When they have toothache, they cannot eat and their cheeks become red and swollen. So many people didn't want to suffer anymore and decided to have their teeth extracted. Tooth extraction can actually damage nerves. If it is lost, it can make swallowing food difficult.

Symptoms of nerve damage from wisdom tooth extraction

1. After the wisdom tooth extraction damaged the nerves, the patient experienced numbness on the left cheek, tongue, lower lip and mandible, accompanied by slurred speech. Within 24 hours, paresthesia retraction was limited to the left half of the tongue and lower gum, but dysarthria persisted, and the tongue was bitten during chewing many times.

2. Dysphagia also occurs, without food regurgitation, belching or weight loss, and with decreased taste on the left side. There were no right-sided facial and oropharyngeal symptoms, and no limb symptoms. One month later, the patient developed severe bilateral radiating pain from the jaw to the ears when chewing food in the surgical area.

What should I pay attention to when extracting teeth?

Try to have the tooth extracted in the morning, but it can actually be done in the afternoon. The main issue to consider is the bleeding. If there is still severe bleeding after the extraction, most doctors are there in the afternoon, so it is easier to deal with, avoiding having to go to the emergency room at night and being unable to sleep properly. Remember to eat breakfast in the morning before coming here to remove the blood sugar. If you don’t eat breakfast, you are prone to hypoglycemia. It is easy to faint during anesthetic injections or tooth extraction operations, causing unnecessary shock and trouble to yourself and the doctor.

Before having a tooth extracted, you must first understand some precautions related to tooth extraction, so as to avoid some adverse symptoms after tooth extraction and better deal with minor incidents that may occur during the tooth extraction process. Be mentally prepared in advance and give yourself a shot of prevention.
