How to treat liver and gallbladder obstruction

People can only ensure good health if their livers are connected. If people's livers are blocked, poor blood circulation will lead to damage to their health. Therefore, we must pay attention to this in daily life. Liver and gallbladder blockages need to be treated with medication. Xiao Chaihu Decoction is a relatively effective conditioning method. It can not only directly reach the lesion, but also dredge dryness and ensure smooth blood circulation in the liver.

To soothe the liver and promote bile secretion, you can use Xiao Chaihu Granules. Women can consider Xiaoyao Pills. Massage the Zusanli acupoint more often and try to avoid getting angry.

Xiao Chaihu Decoction is the main prescription for harmonizing the Shaoyang meridian in Treatise on Febrile Diseases. It has the functions of dredging the three burners, regulating the upper and lower parts of the body, and harmonizing the Qi. In Treatise on Febrile Diseases, it is written that "after five or six days of typhoid fever, the patient suffers from a stroke, with alternating chills and fever, fullness and pain in the chest and flanks, silence, loss of appetite, restlessness and nausea... Xiao Chaihu Decoction is the main treatment." In Treatise on Febrile Diseases, Xiao Chaihu Decoction is the representative prescription for treating the half-exterior and half-interior syndrome of exogenous evil qi entering the Shaoyang meridian, with the pivot being unfavorable. This prescription can regulate the key points, dredge the liver and gallbladder, and is the main prescription for promoting the flow of Shaoyang. The function of Shaoyang is to turn the pivot of Qi so that it can rise and fall freely. Xiao Chaihu Decoction has the function of connecting the yin and yang inside and outside, regulating the rise and fall of Qi. It is used to treat depression caused by Shaoyang stagnation, unfavorable pivot mechanism, and abnormal distribution of Xianghuo. Although one is an external infection and the other is an internal injury, the pathogenesis of both is the unfavorable pivot mechanism of Shaoyang. Therefore, according to the method of treating different diseases with the same method, Xiao Chaihu Decoction can be used for both.

The reason why Xiao Chaihu Decoction has the above-mentioned effects lies in the two medicines, Chaihu and Huangqin. Bupleurum is bitter, pungent and slightly cold. It enters the Shaoyang meridian and has the power to promote growth, and can penetrate both inside and outside.

"Bencao Jingjie" says: "Bupleurum is light and clear, it can raise the gallbladder qi. When the gallbladder qi is regulated, the eleven organs can be promoted and transformed." Zhang Xichun said: "Bupleurum has the life-giving qi of Shaoyang, and is the main medicine for Shaoyang of the foot, and also treats Jueyin of the foot. It can relieve those with uncomfortable liver qi, and disperse those with very strong gallbladder fire. Scutellaria is also good at entering the liver and gallbladder to clear heat, treat the alternation of cold and heat in Shaoyang, and regulate qi. No matter which organs, if the qi is depressed and causes heat, it can promote it." The combination of these two medicines can not only clear the heat in the gallbladder, but also relieve the depressed qi in the liver and gallbladder, thereby achieving the effect of promoting the flow of qi in the three burners and unblocking the Shaoyang. In this regard, Professor Liu Duzhou, a famous Chinese medicine scientist, has a brilliant opinion: "The human body's qi likes to be unobstructed and hates to be depressed and not stretched. Therefore, if the qi of the liver and gallbladder is unobstructed, the qi of the six internal organs can be unobstructed." Pinellia is pungent, warm, bitter and dry in nature. It is used for its ability to dissipate knots and resolve evil that is half superficial and half interior. It is paired with Bupleurum, one cold and one hot, to disperse and dredge at the same time, so that the qi of the triple burner can rise and fall smoothly. The licorice, jujube, ginger and ginseng in the prescription are sweet, warm, tonifying the middle and invigorating the stomach qi to help the circulation of Shaoyang.

The whole formula of Xiao Chaihu Decoction harmonizes the key points, raises the vitality to the Shaoyang meridian, and reaches the inside and outside, so that the five internal organs are in harmony and the Qi and blood flow smoothly. It does not leave any traces of the disease, but treats the cause alone, so that depression is relieved and Qi is activated.
