A single dose of this product can treat simple gonorrhea. Dosage Administer by intramuscular injection or intravenous drip. (1) Preparation of intramuscular injection solution: Add 3.6 ml of sterile water for injection, sodium chloride injection, 5% glucose injection or 1% lidocaine hydrochloride to 1 g bottle to make a solution containing 250 mg of ceftriaxone per 1 ml. (2) Preparation of intravenous solution: Add 9.6 ml of the above diluent (except lidocaine) to the 1 g bottle to make a solution containing 100 mg of ceftriaxone per 1 ml. Dilute with 100-250 ml of 5% glucose injection or sodium chloride injection and drip intravenously. The usual dose for adults is 1-2 g per 24 hours or 0.5-1 g per 12 hours by intramuscular or intravenous drip. The maximum dose is 4g per day. The course of treatment is 7 to 14 days. The usual dose for children is intravenous drip, 20 to 80 mg/kg per day based on body weight. Children over 12 years old should use the adult dose. The recommended dose for the treatment of gonorrhea is a single intramuscular injection of 0.25 g. Adverse Reactions Adverse reactions are related to the dosage and course of treatment. Local reactions include phlebitis (1.86%), in addition there may be allergic reactions such as rash, dermatitis, itching, urticaria, edema, fever, bronchospasm and serum sickness (2.77%), headache or dizziness (0.27%), soft stools, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomatitis, abdominal pain, colitis, jaundice, flatulence, taste disorders and indigestion and other gastrointestinal reactions (3.45%). Laboratory abnormalities were found in approximately 19% of cases, of which 14% were hematological abnormalities, including eosinophilia, bleeding, thrombocytopenia or thrombocytopenia, and leukopenia. The rates of liver and kidney dysfunction were 5% and 1.4% respectively. Other rare side effects include increased liver enzymes and oliguria. |
