It hurts because the wisdom teeth haven't grown out

The wisdom tooth has not yet grown out, but the pain it brings can already be felt. This type of wisdom tooth usually needs to be extracted to ensure the health of other teeth. For some friends, wisdom teeth will not grow out, or they may have grown out but are horizontal, so they cannot be seen. These situations need to be removed in time.

Is it painful to extract wisdom teeth before their roots grow out?

The key to the growth of wisdom teeth depends on the position of your gums and whether there is enough space in the jawbone. If there is enough, it will not hurt at all. Wisdom teeth may be impacted in the jawbone or may not erupt at all. Or it may cause crowding or displacement of other teeth, resulting in local tooth decay, infection or gum pain. The position of impacted wisdom teeth in the jawbone is also abnormal, and sometimes they are even impacted horizontally. In this case it is best to remove it.

In addition, if the wisdom teeth cause unbearable pain, it is best to go to the hospital to have it treated. In other cases, it is best not to extract wisdom teeth, as they are located at the innermost part of the mouth and are the most difficult to operate. Improper operation may be harmful. So, will it hurt to extract the wisdom teeth before the roots grow out? The state stipulates that there is no harm in leaving the roots within 5 mm in the press, so as long as the roots do not exceed 5 mm, there is no need to worry too much. Moreover, not all wisdom teeth need to be removed. If the position of the wisdom teeth is relatively correct, there is no history of inflammation and pain in the soft tissue around the wisdom teeth, there is no caries on the wisdom teeth, and the blind pocket can be eliminated through gingival flap resection, you can consider retaining the wisdom teeth, but you should pay attention to oral care on a regular basis. Doctors recommend removing wisdom teeth in the following situations.

1. Invasion of adjacent teeth

Usually the patient is unaware of the condition, but the dentist finds it out through X-rays. Usually there is not enough space for the wisdom teeth to erupt, and they will fall on the second molars, making it difficult to clean the second molars, or even causing partial absorption of the teeth, causing discomfort or toothache for the patient.

2. Tooth decay

If wisdom teeth have cavities, except for very simple cavities on the occlusal surface that are not deep, which can be filled, we recommend extraction for those cavities on the adjacent surfaces that require very good technology, as well as those that are very deep and even require root canal treatment to prevent future problems.

3. Difficult to clean

Due to lack of space, wisdom teeth often grow crookedly, making it difficult to clean the teeth and leading to tooth decay.

4. No opposing teeth

As mentioned before, not everyone will have all four wisdom teeth grow. Therefore, if there is no competing wisdom tooth opposite the wisdom tooth, the wisdom tooth may over-erupt and affect the bite.

5. Impacted teeth

This is usually the most annoying type. Dentists find it difficult to deal with, but patients may not feel it and therefore ignore it. This type of tooth is usually buried in the alveolar bone and needs to be extracted if it hurts or if a lesion is diagnosed.

6. Insufficient space

Wisdom teeth are in a state of disappearance in the history of human evolution. As a result, the dental arches are getting smaller and smaller, and lack of space is common. The swelling and pain are most noticeable when the tumor breaks out. Many people decide to have their wisdom teeth removed because they cannot tolerate the pain.
