There is water in the human body, and different amounts of water represent different values. Sometimes the water in the human body is beneficial to the growth and normal functioning of our organs, but sometimes it is abnormal and will interfere with the normal metabolic function of the organs. Because many people have cirrhosis, they will develop ascites, some are bloody ascites, especially in the early, middle and late stages of liver cancer and liver disease, the symptoms of ascites will increase significantly, so patients have to be treated by puncture, but they should also pay attention to observe the phenomenon of ascites, physical signs, the amount of water, and check the current state of the ascites. If it is more serious, it needs to be cleaned up as soon as possible. If it is not too serious, drainage can be done first to avoid damage to the body. Ascites in liver disease is often caused by the following: (1) Liver cirrhosis caused by various causes often has varying degrees of ascites during the decompensated stage. (2) Severe viral hepatitis Ascites may occur in acute, subacute and chronic severe hepatitis. The amount of ascites is proportional to the severity of the disease. It usually occurs after jaundice worsens and is a transudate. The formation of ascites is related to decreased plasma albumin, decreased colloid osmotic pressure, decreased renal function, and increased portal vein pressure caused by fibrosis after liver necrosis and intrahepatic thrombophlebitis. Severe liver damage causes incomplete function of antidiuretic hormone and aldosterone, leading to retention of water and sodium, which can also be one of the factors causing ascites in severe hepatitis. (3) Liver cancer: Late-stage primary liver cancer is often complicated by ascites. It is mainly caused by portal vein cancer thrombosis, compression or peritoneal metastasis. The characteristics of ascites caused by primary liver cancer are: ① The ascites grows rapidly and is progressive; ② It is mostly bloody ascites, and cancer cells can be found in cytological examination. If secondary liver cancer is located at or near the portal of the liver, it can compress the portal vein and cause ascites. Diagnosis of Cirrhosis of the Liver: (1) The nature of ascites is transudate; (2) Chronic liver disease and other signs of cirrhosis, such as liver palms, spider nevi, male breast development, menstrual disorders, and sometimes varicose veins of the abdominal wall; (3) Endoscopic examination or esophageal barium swallow X-ray shows esophageal varices; (4 ) Ultrasound or CT scans show signs of cirrhosis, such as an irregular liver shape, nodules, or imbalanced liver lobe proportions; (5) Blood biochemical tests show that serum albumin is low, usually less than 30 grams per liter. |
