How to effectively remove phlegm stuck in the throat

How to effectively remove phlegm stuck in the throat

If you have phlegm in your throat that you can't cough out, it will make you feel very distressed. There are many causes, such as bronchitis, cold and cough, etc. In order to promote the coughing out of phlegm, you can make some light salt water to gargle, which will help with coughing up phlegm. In addition, you should eat a light diet and avoid eating high-calorie foods. For children, you can pat their backs to promote coughing up phlegm.

1. Gargle with salt water

Take a sip of light salt water and slowly swallow it down your throat. When you feel it is almost swallowed, spit it out. Repeat this several times. This method is especially effective for excessive phlegm caused by pharyngitis, and it is also very effective for sore throat.

2. Eat a light diet

Doctors say that fish generates fire and meat generates phlegm, so when you have phlegm in your throat you should eat less meat or try not to eat it. Eating a light diet can reduce the burden on the spleen and stomach and is conducive to the fastest recovery from illness.

3. Regular work and rest schedule

During Chinese New Year and other holidays, everyone likes to stay up late and party, but it is known that some people's bodies cannot handle it. Staying up late can reduce the body's immunity, so you should not stay up late when you have phlegm in your throat.

4. Not too cold or too hot

When there is phlegm in the throat, you should wear appropriate clothes, not too much or too little, and the environment should not be too cold or too hot, otherwise it will aggravate the condition.

5. Do not take expectorant medicine

I have tried almost all the expectorant drugs. I cannot say that they have no effect, but I should say that the results are very limited. Taking medicine will also damage the spleen and stomach and aggravate the condition, so it is recommended that you do not take medicine.

6. Pat your baby on the back

If your baby has phlegm in his throat and can't get rid of it, you should give him more warm water and pat his back with your empty hand to help him get rid of the phlegm.

7. Put raw garlic in your mouth

If you suffer from chronic pharyngitis, try holding a head of raw garlic in your mouth for several months and the pharyngitis can be eradicated. It is best to choose purple-skinned single-headed garlic when putting raw garlic in your mouth. At the beginning, the garlic will be so spicy that tears will flow and the oral mucosa will hurt. You can hold the garlic in your mouth and spit it out from time to time, and avoid biting the smooth surface of the garlic.

8. Find a small piece of "Scrophularia"

I suffer from chronic pharyngitis. My throat is always itchy and dry. I have no phlegm but I can't stop coughing, especially at night. I can't fall asleep at all. Before going to bed, you can find a small piece of "Scrophularia" and hold it between your teeth or under your tongue. Leave it overnight and spit it out in the morning.

9. Take 10 walnuts

Remove the hard shell but leave the skin, and take twice a day, morning and evening. A course of treatment is 15 days. Walnuts have anti-inflammatory, lung-moistening, phlegm-resolving and cough-relieving effects. It can cure diseases such as sore throat and cough.

10. Use fire to burn the skin of 5 red dates

Pour in sugar water and drink; take an appropriate amount of tea leaves, wrap them with gauze, use boiling water to make strong tea juice, then add an appropriate amount of honey and mix well, rinse your mouth every 30 minutes, swallow slowly, and use it several times. These methods are effective in treating sore throat and pharyngitis.
