Can lichen striatus be cured?

Lichen striatus often occurs in some children, especially on the limbs. In fact, there is no need for too strong treatment for this problem. You can apply 10% urea ointment externally, or use some anti-inflammatory and analgesic ointments locally.

1. Lichen striatus is a self-limiting disease that occurs on the skin of children. It often occurs on the flexor side of the upper and lower limbs. There are gray or light red stripes, as if a layer of gray dye is lightly applied. There are scattered papules inside. Sometimes the papules are shiny and slightly itchy. The disease often occurs on one side. This disease is just a lichenification, which is arranged in linear form, and its cause is not clear yet.

2. This disease is more common in children, occurs unilaterally, and tends to occur in one limb, but is more common in the lower limbs. The skin lesions are millet-sized keratotic papules that are densely distributed and extended in lines. The papules are hard or have a little scale when touched. No itching or mild itching. After several months or years, it can be gradually absorbed and disappear without leaving any trace. It is different from unilateral nevus, which is composed of non-nevus cells.

3. This disease is self-limiting. Do not perform overly intensive treatment to prevent scarring. If necessary, apply 10% urea ointment, hydrocortisone cream or 2.5% white mercuric ointment externally for treatment, which is effective.

4. For small lesions, 0.5-1 ml of 2.5% prednisolone acetate suspension can be added to the submucosal area at the base of the lesion and an equal amount of 1% procaine solution for local blockade. You can also add 100 micrograms of vitamin B12 to 1 ml of 1% procaine solution for local blocking.

5. Apply ointment containing corticosteroids to the affected area, and apply anti-inflammatory and analgesic film to the eroded surface.
