How to treat pus discharge from the urethra?

Many people find that pus flows out of their urethra when they urinate. This happens to both men and women. To this end, people must understand the symptoms and causes of the disease before they can treat it. Both urethral disease and fungal balanitis can cause pus discharge from the urethra, so how should they be treated?

1. Fungal balanitis

If the urethral pus discharge is caused by candidal balanitis, the affected area will also have erythema, swelling, fever, ulceration, and exudation. In severe cases, blisters and pustules may appear, and the patient will feel burning and pain. When the infection is serious, the patient will have fever, general weakness and other discomforts. If male fungal balanitis does not heal for a long time, the glans and foreskin will adhere to each other, forming secondary phimosis and even leading to stenosis of the external urethral opening.

2. Symptoms of gonorrhea

Gonorrhea is characterized by purulent discharge from the urethra. The causative agent of gonorrhea is Neisseria gonorrhoeae, which enters the epithelial cells of the urethral mucosa and multiplies inside the cells to form acute inflammation. A large number of white blood cells gather at the site of inflammation to phagocytize the bacteria. The endotoxin released by the dead bacteria causes necrosis of the mucosal layer, producing a large amount of purulent secretions that are discharged from the urethra. The early symptoms of gonorrhea are redness, swelling, itching and slight stinging of the urethra, followed by purulent discharge from the urethra, which gradually worsens. If effective treatment is not taken at this time, it may turn into chronic gonococcal urethritis. Some patients may develop secondary prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, epididymitis, etc.

Finally, we want to say that because this type of disease is quite common and very complicated, if the patient can get timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment, it will be very helpful to improve the cure rate. I wish you a speedy recovery.
