Can mild autism be cured?

Mild autism is also a problem of autism, and its treatment and solution must not be ignored. Because the occurrence of autism will cause great obstacles to the future growth of children, we must pay attention to early detection and take treatment measures as soon as possible.

1. If "cured" is understood as the medical term "healing", that is, the child no longer has autism and the abnormal physiological structure of the brain that causes autism has completely disappeared, then based on the domestic and international research and clinical information we have obtained so far, it can be said that there are almost no autistic patients who have been "cured" through "training". However, after persistent training and correction, there are many cases where they are able to take care of themselves, even live independently and show good development. Some autistic patients are able to write about their growth experiences after they become adults, some are attending college, and some are engaged in design professions, but from the comments of experts on them, one can still feel that their behavior reveals typical traces of autism, but this no longer has the barrier to isolate them from social life. Of course, only a very small number of patients can reach this level, and this is inseparable from the good training they have received.

2. Although training cannot completely cure children with autism, its corrective effect on autistic patients cannot be ignored. Autistic children lose their inherent ability to develop normally and healthily due to their developmental disorders, but this does not mean that we can only watch them trapped in the autistic state and do nothing about it.

3. Decades of research and practice at home and abroad have proved that autistic children have extremely strong plasticity. Whether they are taught or not, and whether they are taught appropriately, their development direction is completely different. The good direction is that they can gradually acquire the ability to adapt to society, take care of themselves, interact with others, and even achieve independence by engaging in a certain job after receiving training. Otherwise, if left unchecked, it will be difficult for autistic children to gradually improve as they grow older. On the contrary, they will often develop increasingly serious emotional, psychological, and behavioral disorders, making the society around them and even their families feel increasingly intolerant of them. Because of being excluded by others, autistic children will experience more and more frustrations, which will further push them into a more autistic state.
