Can purpura nephritis be cured? How to achieve good treatment effect?

Purpura nephritis is damage to the kidneys caused by purpura due to allergies. Patients with purpura nephritis will experience symptoms such as joint pain, rash, abdominal pain, etc. During treatment, it is necessary to find the allergens and timely desensitization treatment is the key to curing purpura nephritis.

1. How to treat purpuric nephritis?

1. Patients in the acute phase should pay attention to rest, and those in severe cases should rest in bed.

2. Remove allergens, stop taking and contacting foods and drugs that may be allergens, and give desensitization treatment if necessary.

3. When there is clear infection and infection foci exist, antibiotics should be given and the lesions should be cleared.

4. Nephrotic syndrome type: corticosteroids plus immunosuppressants such as cyclophosphamide or leflunomide, cell-secretase, etc. Prednisone 1-2 mg/kg per day, cyclophosphamide 2-3 mg/kg per day. The course of treatment depends on the condition and is about 6 to 12 months.

5. Rapidly progressive nephritis type: quadruple therapy (corticosteroids + immunosuppressants + dipyridamole + heparin or warfarin), methylprednisolone pulse therapy and plasma exchange therapy, etc. (see the rapidly progressive nephritis section for details).

6. Patients with end-stage renal failure should be treated with dialysis and kidney transplantation.

2. Clinical manifestations and symptoms:

1. Rash: It is the first and main clinical manifestation of the disease. It occurs on the distal extremities, buttocks and lower abdomen, and is mostly symmetrically distributed. It is slightly higher than the skin surface and may cause itching. It gradually disappears after 1 to 2 weeks and often appears in batches. The interval from purpura to renal damage was less than 2 weeks.

2. Joint symptoms: Joint symptoms are the most common symptoms of purpuric nephritis, characterized by multiple, non-migratory joint pain, mostly occurring in the ankle joints.

3. Gastrointestinal symptoms: often seen, mainly manifested as abdominal pain, abdominal discomfort and diarrhea. Common sites are the navel and lower abdomen. Abdominal pain can sometimes manifest as paroxysmal intestinal colic.

4. Others: Lymph node enlargement, hepatosplenomegaly and nervous system involvement such as headache, convulsion and abnormal behavior.
