What to do if knee spur hurts, what treatment to use

The knees are most prone to problems in middle-aged and elderly people. Many of our friends experience tingling pain in the kneecap. For treatment methods, we must first determine what disease is causing it. Only by prescribing the right medicine can you achieve good treatment results. Don't seek medical treatment blindly.

Drug treatment

If the symptoms of bone warts are not very serious, you can use simple painkillers, anti-inflammatory drugs, sedatives and muscle relaxants or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics, such as aspirin, Tylenol, etc., to relieve pain and relieve symptoms.

Oral medications are absorbed, digested, and decomposed through the gastrointestinal tract and finally circulate through the blood before they can be delivered to the local area. The entire process requires passing through layers of barriers to reach the lesion site, but by then the efficacy of the medication has been reduced to a minimum, so the effect is extremely slow and inefficient. Moreover, the clinical application of these methods can only relieve pain symptoms, functional rehabilitation is irreversible, and bone repair is out of the question. Moreover, oral medications can cause great damage to the liver, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, using only painkillers cannot achieve the therapeutic effect. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment has become the treatment direction for knee bone spurs.

Rehabilitation

Bone spurs can also be treated with hot compresses, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, head traction and other methods. Hot compress is used to increase blood circulation in local pathological tissues and improve muscle ischemia; electrical stimulation and ultrasound are used to promote blood circulation in deeper muscle structures; head traction has the effect of opening nerve foramina, increasing local blood circulation and reducing joint burden.

Surgery

When medication or rehabilitation therapy fails to improve symptoms after more than 3 months, surgical treatment is necessary. In the early stage, posterior decompression surgery can be performed to remove the bone spurs that compress the nerves. These surgeries include laminectomy, discectomy and corpectomy. In the mid-term, spinal fixation surgery can be performed to fix the spine with internal fixation gas, and then autologous bone transplantation can be used to achieve the purpose of bone fusion. In addition, the use of a "vertebral cage" can achieve the effects of nerve decompression and spinal correction at the same time. For long-term degenerated spine, surgical repair can reshape the deformed spine and reduce the load on the affected area. If the joints have been completely destroyed, artificial joint replacement surgery must be performed to restore the function of the joints.
