What causes cellulitis?

Cellulitis often occurs after trauma, causing some nearby infection, or is caused by the spread of blood circulation. In many cases, it is also caused by hemolytic streptococci. Therefore, in the treatment, we must pay attention to the correct use of some antibiotics.

1. Cellulitis is an acute diffuse purulent infection of the subcutaneous tissue, fascia, and muscles. It often occurs after trauma, but can also be spread from adjacent infections through the lymphatic and blood circulation. It is an infectious lesion caused by hemolytic streptococci and spreads quickly.

2. Simply put, cellulitis is a bacterial infection of skin wounds (common ones include streptococci, staphylococci, Escherichia coli, flesh-loving bacteria, etc.). When the bacterial infection has invaded the subcutaneous fat layer of the skin, because the arrangement of the subcutaneous fat itself is a bit like a honeycomb, this type of inflammation is also called cellulitis.

3. The main clinical treatments are generally:

1. Antibiotic treatment: When the inflammation is not very serious, antibiotic treatment is usually all that is needed, either topically or orally.

2. When the wound has formed an abscess, surgical incision, drainage and wound dilation must be performed.
