Is iodine tincture effective in treating common warts?

Is iodine tincture effective in treating common warts?

Iodine tincture has a very good bactericidal and disinfecting effect and is relatively good for killing pathogens. The effect of using iodine tincture to treat common warts is also relatively high. Iodine injection to treat common warts can make the common warts fall off on their own, with a smooth surface and no scars.

1. Iodine tincture, also known as iodine tincture, is made by dissolving iodine and potassium iodide in alcohol solution. Iodine has a powerful effect in killing pathogens, and it can denature the proteins of pathogens. Iodine tincture can kill bacteria, fungi, viruses, amoeba (2%-3% iodine tincture is used for skin disinfection. 1% iodine tincture is used for oral mucosa disinfection), etc., and can be used to treat many bacterial, fungal, viral and other skin diseases. However, it cannot be used together with mercurochrome, as this will produce toxic mercuric iodide.

2. Application

It is a household external disinfectant that can be used to kill spores. It has the special odor of iodine and ethanol.

It has a strong pathogen-killing effect and denatures proteins to treat fungal and other skin diseases.

It is forbidden to use it on a large scale to prevent iodine poisoning. It is easy to oxidize and needs to be stored in a sealed container to prevent the drug effect from weakening.

3. Iodine injection for the treatment of common warts

Before injection, disinfect the affected area first, and inject 0.3-1 ml (depending on the size of the aphid) of 2.5% iodine into the root of the aphid. The injection is slightly painful, but not severe, and the pain should be stopped once the injection is completed (it can be used for kindergarten children and they can tolerate it). Generally, the scar will fall off by itself 3 to 7 days after the injection, leaving a smooth surface and no scar. Since its application in 1958, only a few patients have needed a second injection.
