What are the main symptoms of anorectal hemorrhoids

It is said that "nine out of ten people have hemorrhoids". From this saying, we can know that hemorrhoids are a very common disease. When people suffer from hemorrhoids, it is quite embarrassing. When it hurts, they cannot touch it in front of colleagues and friends. Especially when defecating, it will feel more painful. Sometimes it is so serious that you can’t even sit properly, so everyone must seek timely treatment. Only when the problem is discovered can it be treated. So, what are the main symptoms of anorectal hemorrhoids?

The characteristic of hemorrhoids is that blood in the stool is indirect. It is usually seen when the stool is constipated. It is caused by feces rubbing the mucosa or forceful defecation, which leads to rupture and bleeding of dilated blood vessels. The blood is bright red, more or less, sometimes there is blood on the surface of the stool, sometimes there is blood on the paper when wiping the buttocks, some of it drips down, and some of it sprays like arrows. Generally, there is no pain or other discomfort. The blood in the stool may stop on its own after a few days.

External hemorrhoids usually have no symptoms and only cause mild discomfort. Painless, intermittent bleeding after defecation is an early symptom of internal hemorrhoids and mixed hemorrhoids. Patients often drop blood into the toilet or find blood on toilet paper. In severe cases, the disease is ejection-like. Internal hemorrhoids or mixed hemorrhoids may protrude out of the anus after a certain period of development (second or third stage). In mild cases, the disease may retract on its own after defecation; in severe cases, the disease may need to be retracted by hand. Simple internal hemorrhoids are painless, but the pain is severe when incarcerated. Internal hemorrhoids can cause itching in the late stage. The main early symptoms of hemorrhoids are eruptive or spotting bleeding, which is bright red and may occur before or after defecation. Simple internal hemorrhoids are painless, but a few may have a feeling of heaviness and distension. When internal hemorrhoids or mixed hemorrhoids prolapse and become incarcerated, and edema, infection, and necrosis occur, there will be varying degrees of pain. The main manifestations of medium and late stage internal hemorrhoids are mostly blood in the stool followed by prolapse. In the late stage, the hemorrhoids enlarge and gradually separate from the muscle layer, and are pushed out of the anus during defecation.

In mild cases, the anus will only prolapse during defecation and will return on its own after defecation. In severe cases, it needs to be pushed back by hand. In more serious cases, it will prolapse out of the anus with just a little abdominal pressure. External hemorrhoids usually have no special symptoms, but swelling and pain may occur if thrombosis and inflammation occur. Mixed hemorrhoids are already a very serious type of hemorrhoids, so it is important to recognize the symptoms of mixed hemorrhoids and seek early treatment and early recovery.

After suffering from hemorrhoids, you must pay more attention to your diet and avoid eating spicy, raw, cold, or irritating foods. Don't squat in the toilet for too long, no more than three minutes. Many people with hemorrhoids stay in the toilet for too long, and they get the disease over time. Don't play with your mobile phone in the toilet. Hemorrhoids also have certain genetic factors, so if parents have hemorrhoids, they should pay more attention to it in daily life.
