These two kinds of water are harmful to the kidneys and must not be touched

In life, many middle-aged and elderly people like to drink strong tea, and many white-collar workers like to drink strong coffee. However, they don’t know that loving to drink strong tea and coffee can easily lead to kidney problems.

Drinking strong tea frequently can damage your kidneys

Strong tea contains high fluoride content, and the kidney is the main excretion organ of fluoride. When the body takes in excessive fluoride that exceeds the excretion capacity of the kidney, fluoride accumulates in the body. Excess fluoride retained in the kidneys can cause damage to the renal cortical and medullary tubules. Drinking strong tea regularly can damage your kidneys.

Some people always like to drink a cup of strong tea after drinking to sober up. In fact, strong tea not only fails to help you get rid of alcohol, but it can also damage your kidneys. "Compendium of Materia Medica" says: "Drinking tea after drinking alcohol will damage the kidneys." This is because the caffeine in strong tea can quickly pass through the kidneys to produce a diuretic effect, which will cause acetaldehyde that has not yet been oxidized to enter the kidneys prematurely. Acetaldehyde is highly toxic to the kidneys and can damage glomerular and tubular cells, causing certain harm to kidney function. Therefore, you should eat more fruits to sober up after drinking. To sober up, you can eat some fruits such as citrus, pears, and apples. Watermelon juice is better. You can also drink some hot soup.

Drinking too much coffee may lead to kidney stones

Foreign studies have shown that drinking coffee can increase the secretion of calcium ions in people's urine. This means that people are at increased risk of kidney stones and osteoporosis.

It is reported that calcium in urine is an important component of kidney stones. Therefore, the more calcium in urine, the easier it is to form stones. Therefore, patients with kidney stones should drink less than 2 cups of coffee a day, that is, no more than 0.45 liters of coffee a day, and normal people should not drink more than 1 liter of coffee.

Since coffee can hinder the body's absorption of calcium, long-term and excessive drinking may cause osteoporosis. Therefore, people who are used to drinking coffee should drink at least one cup of milk every day, or eat more calcium-containing foods.
