Anterior mediastinal space-occupying lesion

Anterior mediastinal space-occupying lesion

The anterior mediastinal mass is a shadow seen on the film. If the lesion turns out to be a mediastinal tumor, surgical treatment is required. If the lesion is serious, it needs to be taken seriously. The area where the mediastinum is located is the location of important vital organs, and health must be ensured. Otherwise, if something goes wrong in the heart area, health will be lost. So let’s take a look at the treatment of anterior mediastinal mass lesions.

A concept

The mediastinum is located between the bilateral chest cavities, behind the sternum and on the side of the spine, with the entrance of the neck above and the diaphragm below. To facilitate diagnosis and treatment, it is artificially divided into four areas: upper, lower, front and back. In this area are the heart and the large blood vessels entering and leaving the heart, the esophagus, trachea, thymus, nerves and lymphatic tissue, etc., so it is the location of important vital organs.

2. Clinical manifestations

(1) Respiratory symptoms: chest tightness and chest pain usually occur behind the sternum or on the affected side of the chest. Most malignant tumors cause severe pain when they invade bones or nerves. Cough is often caused by compression of the trachea or lung tissue; hemoptysis is less common.

(2) Neurological symptoms: Various symptoms are caused by the compression or erosion of the nerves by the tumor. For example, if the tumor invades the phrenic nerve, it can cause hiccups and diaphragmatic motor paralysis. If the tumor invades the recurrent laryngeal nerve, it can cause hoarseness. If the sympathetic nerves are affected, Horner's syndrome may occur. When the intercostal nerves are eroded, chest pain or paresthesia may occur. Such as compression of spinal nerves causing limb paralysis.

(3) Symptoms of infection: If the cyst ruptures or the tumor infection affects the bronchial or lung tissue, a series of infection symptoms will appear.

(4) Compression symptoms: Compression of the superior vena cava is common in superior mediastinal tumors, and is more common in malignant thymomas and lymphoid malignancies. The esophagus and trachea are compressed, and symptoms such as shortness of breath or pharyngeal obstruction may occur.

(5) Special symptoms: The teratoma ruptures into the bronchus, and the patient coughs up sebum and hair. When a bronchial cyst ruptures, it communicates with the bronchus, showing symptoms of bronchopleural fistula. A very small number of patients with intrathoracic thyroid tumors have symptoms of hyperthyroidism. Patients with thymoma sometimes have symptoms of myasthenia gravis.

Three treatments

Diet therapy for mediastinal tumors

In medical practice, the treatment of mediastinal tumors is through radiotherapy, chemotherapy, surgery and other measures. But why does it continue to grow after receiving treatment? Scientific research shows that the environment in which cancer cells and tumor cells survive is acidic. Treatments such as surgery kill cancer cells but also damage normal cells. After receiving treatment, the patient became increasingly weak. The root cause is that the environment in which cancer cells live is acidic and this environment cannot be changed. It will continue to grow and deteriorate. By ingesting alkaline foods, the human body's environment is changed. If cells are not nourished, they will not continue to grow without an environment to survive. First of all, it can be controlled so that it does not get worse, and it will gradually get smaller as the body fluids change. Diet therapy controls the growth of cancer cells from the source and is also the most thorough treatment method. Eat more alkaline foods to improve your acidic constitution and supplement the body with essential organic nutrients. This will help you starve cancer cells to death while restoring your immunity. It is often seen that due to the hesitation of patients and their families, the opportunity for treatment is missed, resulting in the tumor growing quickly and invading important organs or turning into malignancy and losing the chance for treatment. This is worth taking as a warning.

After reading the above treatment and content of anterior mediastinal space-occupying lesions, do you know the importance of important organs in the human body? Once you get a tumor, it is too late. You will regret it and put your body through so much pain. Only those who have experienced it know the pain. Therefore, you must care about your health, ensure the health of your organs, and stay away from diseases.
