8 health tips for foot care

There is a saying since ancient times that "to take care of trees is to take care of their roots, to take care of people is to take care of their feet." Modern medicine believes that there are many nerve endings in the feet that are closely connected to the brain and participate in and regulate brain activities. Therefore, foot care has a scientific theoretical basis. Now let’s take a look at the specific methods of foot care.

1. Tap the soles of your feet

Tapping the soles of your feet with your fists before going to bed every night can eliminate the day's fatigue. By tapping to give proper stimulation to the soles of the feet, blood circulation throughout the body is promoted, which can enhance the function of internal organs and restore energy as soon as possible.

The correct way to tap is to use the sole of the foot as the center and radiate rhythmically to the surrounding areas, until you feel a slight pain. You can also sit cross-legged on the bed or chair and put your foot on the knee of the other leg, which makes it easier to tap. Tap each foot about 100 times, but don't use too much force.

2. Shake your feet

If the blood circulation in the whole body is poor, visceral disorders will occur, and sub-health signs such as headaches and loss of appetite will appear. Simple foot stimulation can promote blood circulation. Lie on your back on the bed, first let your feet swing in the air, then rotate your feet like riding a bicycle. As long as you continue for 5 to 6 minutes, the blood circulation of your whole body will be improved. This method can also stretch the muscles on the inside of the calves and knees and completely eliminate leg fatigue. If people who are afraid of cold in winter perform this method before going to bed, they will feel warm all over and it will help improve sleep.

3. Foot bath

Sunbathing is a natural therapy to improve physical health. Exposing the soles of the feet, known as the second heart, to sunbathing can achieve unexpected health benefits. The ultraviolet rays in the sun stimulate the soles of the feet, which can promote the body's metabolism, enhance the functions of internal organs, and make the body stronger. People who practice sunbathing on the soles of their feet are less likely to suffer from heatstroke in the summer and catch a cold all year round. When the weather is fine, you can let the sun shine directly on the soles of your feet for 20 to 30 minutes outdoors every day. Do not sunbathe through glass, as most of the ultraviolet rays will be absorbed by the glass.

4. Foot friction

Many patients complained to their doctors that they often couldn't sleep in bed, tossing and turning, and staying awake until dawn because they were worried or irritable.

In fact, because the soles of the feet are farthest from the heart, when peripheral blood circulation is poor, the feet feel cold and are prone to insomnia. When you have insomnia, you can put your feet together and rub them against each other to promote blood circulation. When your feet feel warm, you will be able to fall asleep soundly in a short time. The method is to lie on your back on the bed, lift your feet, and then rub them against each other vigorously. The effect will be better if you rub your hands at the same time. Just rub your feet vigorously 20 times and your feet will feel warm and sleepy.

5. Keep your feet warm

In winter, especially on snowy days, you should keep your feet warm. After walking in the snow, it is best to soak your feet in hot water. If it is raining or snowing, or the snow has melted, even if you wear warm shoes, they will soon get wet and your feet will easily get frostbite. At this time, the humble plastic bag can solve the big problem. You can put a plastic bag over your socks and then wear your shoes to keep you warm and to provide insulation.

6. Rub your toes

Rubbing your toes can help improve memory. You can grab the big toes of both feet with your hands and rub them in circular motions, several times a day, for 2 to 3 minutes each time. You can also use your hands to rub the outside of your little toe in circular motions. Just do it for 5 minutes during class breaks or before going to bed. It is recommended that women who usually sit for a long time or stand for a long time at work should consciously walk more and do more local exercises of their hands, feet and waist, such as stretching their fingers, circling their arms, twisting their toes, jumping on the spot, etc., to generate body heat and promote blood circulation.

7. Wash your feet with hot water before going to bed

There have been proverbs since ancient times: "It is better to wash your feet before going to bed than to eat a lamb in three days" and "Wash your feet every night to avoid colds starting from your feet." Before going to bed every night, soak your feet in warm water kept at about 40℃ (the water covers the ankle joints) for 15 to 20 minutes. While soaking, rub the Yongquan acupoints on the soles of your feet. It is best if the skin is slightly red after bathing your feet. This can promote blood vessel dilation in the feet, accelerate blood flow, and speed up blood circulation. At the same time, it will reduce the amount of blood in the brain and promote sleep. In addition, the Taichong, Yinbai, Kunlun and other acupoints on the feet are stimulated by heat, which will promote blood circulation in the human body, regulate internal organs, balance yin and yang, dredge meridians, strengthen the body, delay aging, eliminate diseases and prolong life. People with joint pain caused by wind, cold and dampness can add Chinese medicines such as Evodia rutaecarpa, Cornus officinalis, and Cloves to the foot bath water, which can warm the meridians and dispel cold, expel wind and relieve pain. Citizens who have just caught a cold can also add a small spoonful of salt and one or two ounces of ginger to the foot bath water when soaking their feet at home.

8. Choose shoes that are suitable for both fat and thin

Wearing tight shoes puts pressure on the blood vessels in the skin of the feet, affecting the normal circulation of blood.
