Sauna can promote metabolism and has the benefit of treating skin diseases. Therefore, sauna is a very popular way of treatment. However, we should also know that there are some aspects of sauna that need attention.

If we do not pay attention to some details when taking a sauna, the sauna will not only fail to play its due role, but may also have a counterproductive effect and bring diseases to our bodies. Let’s take a look at the introduction below.

If we do not pay attention to some details of taking a sauna, it will easily cause health problems, which will not be worth the loss. Therefore, we must understand some things we need to pay attention to before taking a sauna.

Sauna bathing is a special bathing method that has the dual functions of cleansing the skin and treating diseases. It relieves pain and relaxes joints by alternating between hot and cold. For the skin, due to the obvious expansion of skin blood vessels and heavy sweating during the steam bath, blood circulation is improved. Sweat excretion helps to eliminate waste from the body, allowing various tissues in the skin to obtain more nutrition. It has different degrees of therapeutic effects on many skin diseases such as ichthyosis, psoriasis, and pruritus.

Taking a sauna moderately has certain benefits to the human body, especially for patients with rheumatism and rheumatoid arthritis. It helps the recovery of diseased joints. It is also helpful for the treatment of colds. However, you must take good warming measures after the sauna, otherwise the cold will be aggravated. Patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, diabetes and nephritis are generally not suitable for saunas, otherwise it may cause recurrence of the disease and cause accidents. Since sauna bathing has certain effects on the human body, it is not advisable to take a sauna bath in the following cases:

1. Patients with a history of hypertension or heart disease. Because sauna bathing causes a wide range of fluctuations in blood pressure and increases the burden on the heart, it can easily lead to high blood pressure, sudden heart attack, accidents, and even life-threatening conditions.

2. After meals, especially within half an hour after a full meal. Taking a sauna bath immediately after a meal will cause the blood vessels in the skin to dilate, and a large amount of blood will flow back to the skin, affecting the blood supply to the digestive organs, which will inevitably affect the digestion and absorption of food and is harmful to your health.

3. When overworked or hungry. When tired and hungry, the human body's muscle tone is poor, and the tolerance to cold and heat stimuli is reduced, which can easily cause collapse.

4. Women during menstruation should avoid taking sauna baths. During menstruation, women's body resistance is reduced. When taking a sauna, the alternation between cold and hot temperatures can easily cause colds and bacterial infections, endangering women's health.

5. Infertile men should avoid sauna baths. A foreign study has shown that the temperature of the testicles in the scrotum is about 2°C lower than body temperature, and temperatures exceeding 37°C will cause damage to them. Therefore, a high temperature environment like a sauna is very harmful to male sperm growth. Therefore, infertile men should not take a sauna too frequently, and should take a sauna at most once a week. Even if you are not a non-fertile man, you should try to avoid sauna use.

In the above article, we introduced sauna, a very popular health-preserving method. Many people like sauna because it can promote blood pressure circulation and metabolism. In addition, sauna can also treat some skin diseases. However, there are many details we need to pay attention to when taking a sauna.
