A study by Washington University in St. Louis found that many cancer patients were under great stress two or three years before they developed cancer. Professor Luo Ren, deputy director of the Sub-Health Branch of the Chinese Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and director of the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University, said that physical and mental fatigue is one of the manifestations of sub-health. About 70% of people in our country are sub-healthy and are heading towards "disease". From fatigue to illness, it generally goes through the following five stages.

1. Dizziness and shortness of breath.


Occasionally staying up late to work overtime, excessive workload during the day, and working in front of the computer for a long time can cause slow blood flow, making people dizzy, short of breath, listless, etc. At this time, the resistance will drop temporarily, and symptoms such as oral ulcers, colds, and sore throats may occur, but they will recover with timely rest.


2. The body feels heavy.


After working overtime or traveling on business for several consecutive days, or not having a rest for two or three weekends, your body will feel heavy, your movements will be slow, your gait will be heavy, and your standing will be unstable. At this time, the oxygen and blood sugar concentrations in the blood continue to decrease, causing hypoxia and "starvation" of tissues and organs throughout the body. Symptoms such as muscle cramps, cold hands and feet, bloodshot eyes, gastrointestinal dysfunction, hair loss, and depression may occur.


3. Exhaustion.


For example, when the project at hand enters the sprint phase, you have to work overnight, which puts you under tremendous physical and mental pressure. In this situation, people who cannot eat or sleep will lose weight rapidly in a short period of time, while others relieve stress by overeating and gain weight; their skin color becomes dull, and they even get acne in middle age; their waist and back become stiff, and they suffer from severe pain in their neck and shoulders; they develop serious sleeping problems and cannot sleep all night; they become anxious, irritable, and even hysterical.


4. Minor problems keep occurring.


If the overwork state continues for half a year to a year, the debt you owe to your body will slowly become unpayable. At this time, neck, shoulder, waist and back pain become more severe, oral ulcers, periodontal disease, gastritis, constipation and other diseases are difficult to heal and even affect normal life and work. Mentally, people may experience mild anxiety and depression, and sleep problems are even more worrying.


5. Suffering from a serious illness.


If you are in a state of overwork and mental stress for a long time, your immune function will gradually weaken and your body's self-repair ability will decrease. At this time, diseases may come knocking on your door. In mild cases, you may suffer from multiple joint pains, migraines, myocarditis, glomerulonephritis, etc. In severe cases, you may suffer from diabetes, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and tumors.
