Five types of white secretions appearing in the corners of the eyes

With the increase of life pressure, it may be the increase of mental pressure. In our daily life, the radiation source causes the eyes to produce a common eye disease. For example, in daily life, when we wash our face in the morning, we will find a small amount of secretion in the corner of the eye. This is related to the reduced movement during sleep at night and the reduced secretion of gastric juice. Some secretions mainly come from the lacrimal glands and the immunity of some eye cells.

In daily life, the secretions from the corners of our eyes are generally transparent or white and not easy to detect. If the secretion is small, it will not affect the excretion, so it will not be a big deal. If the eyes detect a certain disease, the secretions from the eyes will show the quantity or characteristics.

Watery secretions are thin, slightly viscous watery liquids. Increased secretions often indicate viral keratoconjunctivitis, early tear duct obstruction, foreign bodies on the ocular surface, minor trauma, etc. If myopia or astigmatism is not corrected or the glasses are not suitable, watery secretions may increase after reading for a long time, accompanied by eye fatigue.

Viscous secretions often occur in patients with dry eyes and acute allergic conjunctivitis. They appear as sticky white filamentous substances, which are very similar to the properties of commonly used glues. They are also accompanied by symptoms such as foreign body sensation and itchy eyes. Children with allergic conjunctivitis may also pull out stringy secretions from their eyes when they wake up in the morning.

Mucopurulent discharge is a thick, slightly yellowish substance. If this type of secretion increases, the possibility of chronic allergic conjunctivitis and trachoma should be considered.

Purulent discharge is the most serious problem. The appearance of purulent secretions often indicates bacterial infection and you should go to the hospital for treatment in time. If a large amount of purulent secretions are found in both eyes of a newborn 3 to 4 days after birth, it is highly suggestive of gonococcal conjunctivitis, commonly known as pus-filled eyes.

Bloody discharge If you find that your eye discharge is light pink or obviously blood red, it may be caused by eye trauma. In addition, acute viral infection should also be considered. At this time, the patient will also have red eyes, swollen preauricular lymph nodes, etc.

The above are five common eye secretions. If the eyes are found to have eye secretions of a certain disease, the quantity or characteristics will be expressed, and those who need to be vigilant about these secretions are mainly suffering from common eye diseases. Therefore, timely diagnosis must be made in daily life.
