What are the examination methods for nasopharyngeal carcinoma and what are the early symptoms?

Nowadays, many foods are more or less polluted in one way or another, and the air is also polluted. Then, there are more and more patients around us, and the incidence of cancer is getting higher and higher. Annual physical examinations have become important. What are the examination methods for nasopharyngeal cancer? What are the early symptoms?

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a malignant tumor that occurs in the nasopharyngeal mucosa. It is common in Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Hunan and other places in China, with more men than women. Most of them are middle-aged, but there are also adolescent patients.

Common early symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma include:

① Bleeding: mainly blood in the posterior nasal ligament or bloody nose. At the beginning, it is often a small amount of blood, which is easy to be ignored. When the amount of bleeding is large, the disease often enters the middle and late stages.

② Headache: In the early stage, there may be headache, mostly on one side and intermittent; in the late stage, there is continuous severe headache, which is easily mistaken for neuralgia.

③ Swollen cervical lymph nodes: Neck lumps appear on one or both sides, are not hard, and have poor mobility, and are often mistaken for lymph tuberculosis or lymphadenitis.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma can be understood not only by the above symptoms, but also by its examination methods.

Examination methods for nasopharyngeal carcinoma include nasopharyngeal endoscopy, indirect nasopharyngeal endoscopy, fiberoptic nasopharyngeal endoscopy, neck biopsy, fine needle aspiration, Epstein-Barr virus serological test, nasopharyngeal lateral view, skull base film and CT examination, B-ultrasound examination and magnetic resonance imaging.

Since the nasopharynx is hidden and difficult to examine, we often need to pay more attention to ourselves, detect it early, and treat it early.
