What is the prognosis of colon cancer dmmr

Colon cancer DMMR is an indicator for predicting the efficacy of adjuvant treatment for colon cancer. It can usually be used to guide the medication of some colon cancer patients and can also be used to screen some patients with family hereditary colon cancer. The prognosis of colon cancer patients treated with DMMR is usually good.

DMMR is a gene test result in medicine, which usually refers to the treatment method of the disease based on the relevant test results. If the test result is positive, it means that the cancer cell DNA has a strong self-repair ability, a fast growth rate, and a high degree of malignancy. It is usually necessary to increase the amount of chemotherapy drugs used, and the cancerous site will also be tested. If necessary, combined radiotherapy is needed to improve the condition. DMMR examinations found that malignant tumors are less than 1 cm, which is very meaningful for the early diagnosis and treatment of cancer. However, the prognosis of colon cancer depends on the clinical symptom stage, pathological histology, and whether the surgery can be cured. The prognosis is different for different stages.

In the early stages of colon cancer without lymph node metastasis, the patient's 5-year survival rate can usually reach 90%, but there is a risk of recurrence; for patients with locally advanced stage II-III colon cancer, the 5-year survival rate can usually reach 50%~78% after combined treatment with surgery and radiotherapy and chemotherapy; for those with local recurrence and distant metastasis, surgical treatment after radiotherapy and chemotherapy may achieve a better survival period.

There may be no obvious symptoms in the early stages of colon cancer. As the disease progresses, symptoms such as changes in bowel habits, changes in stool characteristics, abdominal masses, pain, intestinal obstruction, low fever, etc. may appear. It is recommended to go to the general surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, gastroenterology and other departments of the hospital as soon as possible. The doctor will develop an appropriate treatment plan based on the patient's condition, such as surgical treatment, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, etc.
