How long can a person with osteosarcoma live on average?

Osteosarcoma is a malignant tumor of the bone. There are two main treatment methods for osteosarcoma. The first is the application of comprehensive treatment with high-dose chemotherapy as the main method. The second is the development of limb-saving surgery, which has significantly reduced the amputation rate of limbs. The achievements in osteosarcoma treatment are largely attributed to the progress of chemotherapy. Under the control of effective chemotherapy, the treatment of osteosarcoma is not a single amputation or joint separation, but in cases with conditions, artificial joint replacement, in vitro inactivation and reimplantation, heat therapy and other methods can be used. According to literature statistics, the five-year survival rate of osteosarcoma after treatment is about 5% to 20%.

Early stage liposarcoma

When the body is too fat, some tissues and organs in the body will be compressed by fat, and in this case, surgery is not suitable. If the body is not well protected during childhood or adolescence, the probability of developing liposarcoma will increase relatively. Patients must exercise their bodies to alleviate the occurrence of fat particles, because when the body is too fat, it will sometimes be affected. Early benign lipomas usually do not cause pain and discomfort in the body, and painless lumps will grow.

Can osteosarcoma be cured?

If osteosarcoma is diagnosed early, treated early and combined with chemotherapy, the patient's survival rate can often be improved. However, osteosarcoma itself cannot be cured. Osteosarcoma is a malignant bone tumor that is common in adolescents. It often occurs in the proximal end of the tibia and the distal end of the femur. It often manifests as a mass around the knee joint and accompanied by pain. Osteosarcoma often requires amputation to save the patient's life. Osteosarcoma cannot be cured.
