What are the symptoms of middle and late stage lung cancer? Four symptoms of middle and late stage lung cancer

Lung cancer is the most common cancer and has a very high mortality rate. In patients with advanced lung cancer, the tumor is too large and has invaded most of the organs in the chest cavity, causing a series of discomforts such as coughing, hoarseness, chest pain, and hemoptysis. If you have related symptoms, you should go to a tertiary hospital for examination in time to identify the cause as soon as possible to avoid delaying the best treatment time for lung cancer.

Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers in recent years, with the highest incidence and mortality rates. According to pathological differences, lung cancer can be divided into two types, small cell lung cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. Smoking is the main cause of lung cancer. For smokers, the younger they start smoking, the greater the probability of lung cancer, which can be 10 to 20 times that of ordinary people. Although the incidence and mortality of lung cancer are very high, as long as early detection and early treatment are carried out, most patients can still live a normal life.

Patients with mid- to late-stage lung cancer will frequently cough and expectorate, and the expectorated sputum will contain blood. In addition, since the tumors of patients with mid- to late-stage lung cancer are large and easily invade the lungs, patients will experience chest tightness, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing after a certain intensity of physical exercise. When the cancer cells in the lungs begin to metastasize, they will also experience bone pain and multiple organ dysfunction symptoms.

Four symptoms of advanced lung cancer

1. Severe cough

After excluding the influence of colds, pharyngitis and other diseases, patients with mid-to-late stage lung cancer will have unexplained coughs in their daily lives, and the coughs are rapid and powerful. During this period, the lung tumor has invaded most of the patient's trachea, and the patient's lungs are extremely susceptible to irritation.

2. Blood in sputum

Tumor tissue grows very fast and has a rich blood supply, but it is relatively fragile. When a patient coughs, it stimulates the tumor in the lungs, rupturing the capillaries on its surface, so that the patient's sputum is often mixed with blood, and in severe cases, symptoms of hemoptysis may occur.

3. Chest pain

When the tumor of a patient with advanced lung cancer compresses the pleura, it will cause pleural effusion. As the effusion continues to increase, it will irritate the pleura and chest wall, causing very severe pain. In the end, the effusion will spread to the heart through the lymphatic vessels to form pericardial effusion, which directly endangers life safety.

4. Hoarseness

The tumor in the lungs of patients with advanced lung cancer is very large and easily invades the diaphragm. The recurrent laryngeal nerve that controls pronunciation is located just to the left of the diaphragm. When the tumor compresses the recurrent laryngeal nerve, the patient's voice will become hoarse and weak.
