Can viral infection cause liver cancer? Pay attention to these five points in preventing and treating liver cancer

Liver cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in my country, with a very high mortality rate. It ranks third in the death rate of malignant tumors, second only to stomach and esophagus cancer. In some rural areas, it ranks second, second only to stomach cancer. About 110,000 people die of liver cancer in my country each year, accounting for 45% of the world's liver cancer deaths. The main causes of liver cancer in my country are viral hepatitis infection, aflatoxin contamination in food, and drinking water pollution in rural areas.

Three major causes of liver cancer: viruses, biliary disease, and fatty liver

"Hepatitis B virus is the biggest hidden danger that causes liver cancer. About 80% of liver cancer patients in my country are transformed from hepatitis B patients or hepatitis B virus carriers." The way hepatitis B virus causes liver cancer is that the human body is infected with the virus, and the virus replicates actively in the body, causing damage to the liver, leading to chronic hepatitis. Long-term chronic hepatitis leads to cirrhosis, and then develops into liver cancer. This process is relatively long and takes more than ten years.

Secondly, diseases of the biliary system, such as hepatobiliary stones and liver flukes, can induce liver cancer. "Although the causes and pathogenesis of liver and gallbladder diseases are different, they affect each other at some level, and may eventually lead to liver dysfunction or even chronic liver failure." In addition, the latest international research shows that fatty liver can also lead to liver cancer, and the incidence is on the rise. Severe fatty hepatitis can also lead to cirrhosis, and eventually develop into liver cancer.

Many middle-aged people are about 40 years old. The intense work, busy life, and various pressures from all aspects often make people feel exhausted. Especially when they are tired, drinking, angry, or suffering from other diseases, liver damage is more common. In recent years, the incidence of liver cancer has been increasing, and it has become a major killer that seriously threatens human health. In general, the occurrence of liver cancer is closely related to daily diet. For example, long-term consumption of food that has been stored for too long or moldy and spoiled can easily induce liver cancer. Therefore, you must not eat moldy food.

If you smell moldy rice, or if food has been left out for a long time, it is inevitable that it will go moldy. Food mold means that food is rotten and spoiled. Various toxic substances will be produced in this process, which can cause fatal harm to human health. If you find that the milk has turned sour, or if you think that the cooking oil is contaminated by mold, then throw them away quickly. Because after the food is moldy, microbial metabolism will produce a very toxic and strong carcinogen-aflatoxin, which is a highly toxic substance. After entering the human body, it mainly damages the liver tissue. As the body's detoxification organ, the liver is responsible for decomposing and transforming toxic substances in the human body. When there are too many toxins that the liver cannot decompose, they will remain in the liver. The accumulation of too many toxic substances in the liver is bound to damage liver cells, and over time, liver cells will die.

Many people think that only the rotten part of a moldy apple is infected by mold, and as long as this part is cut off, the rest is still good and can continue to be eaten. In fact, this is not the case. Once the food begins to mold, the part that has not completely deteriorated has already entered the process of microbial metabolism, and has produced a large number of bacteria and toxins that are invisible to the naked eye. If we eat it, we are likely to suffer from acute poisoning. Fever, abdominal pain, vomiting, anorexia and other physical discomforts will torture us for at least three to five days. Severe cases may even cause toxic liver disease symptoms after a few months, including jaundice, liver enlargement, pain in the liver area, splenomegaly, ascites, lower limb edema and abnormal liver function. There may also be heart enlargement, pulmonary edema, and even convulsions, coma and other symptoms. Most patients will have severe rectal bleeding after death.

Pay attention to these five points in preventing and treating liver cancer

1. Preventing Hepatitis Using hepatitis vaccines to prevent hepatitis and thus liver cancer has become one of the most promising ways to prevent liver cancer. Not only should children be vaccinated with hepatitis B vaccine when they are born, but adults who have not been vaccinated with hepatitis B vaccine and have not had hepatitis can also be vaccinated with hepatitis B vaccine. This can block some hepatitis from developing into liver cancer.

2. Stay away from carcinogens Do not eat moldy or mushy food, as aflatoxin contained in such food is a carcinogen. Eating moldy food is very likely to cause liver cancer.

3. Quit drinking Alcohol needs to be detoxified by the liver, the largest chemical factory in the human body. The acetaldehyde produced in this metabolic process is extremely toxic to the human body and can cause cell damage, fat deposition in liver cells, inflammation and necrosis of liver cells, and hyperplasia of fibrous connective tissue, which can eventually lead to cirrhosis of the liver, and some cirrhosis of the liver will turn into liver cancer.

4. Regular physical examinations. The risk of liver cancer in patients with chronic hepatitis B or C is 10 to 30 times higher than that of normal people. If hepatitis is cured, the damage to the liver caused by the hepatitis virus has not disappeared, which means that the basis for cancer is still there, so regular examinations should be conducted. For people over 35 years old who are positive for hepatitis B surface antigen, have chronic hepatitis or liver cirrhosis for more than 5 years, and have a family history of liver cancer in three generations of their direct relatives, testing alpha-fetoprotein and liver B-ultrasound every six months is the most effective way to detect liver cancer in the early stage.

5. Actively exercise. The occurrence of liver cancer is also related to the body's immunity. Under normal circumstances, cells in the human body may form cancer cells, but the human immune system has the ability to eliminate these cells, and the human body will not develop cancer. When the human body's immunity is weakened, it is easy to develop cancer. Actively exercising and enhancing the body's immunity are also important aspects of preventing liver cancer. Hepatitis B patients should have good living habits, have a regular daily routine, do appropriate physical and mental exercises, and maintain an optimistic mood. This can enhance physical fitness, improve the body's immunity, and prevent cirrhosis and liver cancer.
