Tips for relieving dysmenorrhea through massage

Most women who suffer from dysmenorrhea have a lot of cold in their uterus, so at this time women can put some warm baby stickers on their stomachs, which can effectively remove the cold in the body. Some massage techniques can also relieve dysmenorrhea. Massage is usually done on the acupoints near the stomach. Most girls suffer from dysmenorrhea for about a day, so what are some tips for relieving dysmenorrhea with massage?

Dysmenorrhea is caused by women’s physical weakness and excessive coldness. Pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral area occurs before, during, or after menstruation. In severe cases, the pain is severe, the face is pale, the hands and feet are cold, and there is even fainting. This is called "dysmenorrhea" or "menstrual abdominal pain." The pain often lasts for several hours or 1-2 days. Generally, the abdominal pain will be relieved after the menstrual blood flows smoothly. This disease is more common in young women and is one of the common diseases among women.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that dysmenorrhea is mostly caused by poor circulation of Qi and blood or Qi and blood deficiency. Common clinical symptoms include qi stagnation and blood stasis, cold stagnation in the uterus, qi and blood deficiency, and dampness and heat. Many women's first reaction is to take painkillers. It is worth noting that although painkillers take effect quickly, improper use may affect liver and kidney function and cause gastric bleeding. In fact, acupuncture, massage, and hot compress can also effectively relieve dysmenorrhea.

1. Take painkillers: When menstrual cramps begin, women can take painkillers with milk or food. The painkillers take effect in about 20-30 minutes and last for 12 hours. This method is not recommended for long-term use.

2. Moxibustion: Select acupoints such as Sanyinjiao and Zusanli, and hang the moxa stick at a height of about 3 cm from the acupoints to make the local area warm without burning pain. Massage each acupoint for about 10-15 minutes, until a blush appears on the skin.

3. Massage method: Rub the palms of the patient together until they become warm, and massage the lower abdomen below the navel in a clockwise direction for about 200 times. Or press and rub the Zusanli and Sanyinjiao points for 1 minute each.

4. Hot compress: Hot compress on the lower abdomen can help relieve uterine spasms, promote blood circulation in the abdomen, and relieve dysmenorrhea. If you use heated Chinese medicine for hot compress, the effects of promoting blood circulation, activating meridians, promoting qi and relieving pain will be better.

The most convenient and practical method is hot water bottle. Fill a hot water bottle with boiling water, hold it against your stomach to warm it up. It can reduce a lot of pain. For brown sugar, you can buy brown sugar in supermarkets, there are many kinds. The key is brown sugar. Buy a better kind of brown sugar that comes in bags. Brew with boiling water and drink two or even three bags a day. The pain can be significantly relieved within half a day. In addition, you should drink boiled water and go to the toilet frequently. Avoid spicy or cold food, and don't use too much oil in cooking. Don’t eat cold fruits directly. Apples can be cooked and eaten. If you have no appetite, you can make porridge by adding red beans, red dates, peanuts or other foods to millet. Eat one meal in the morning and one in the evening. A big improvement in just one day. Most dysmenorrhea is caused by cold body or cold uterus in women, so eating more warm foods on a daily basis has many benefits for improving women's health.

If you are sure that you have a cold constitution (manifested by cold hands and feet, fear of cold, diarrhea during menstruation, etc.), you should pay attention to eating less cold food in your daily life, especially in summer. Control yourself and stay away from cold drinks and ice cream, which can effectively eliminate cold and moisture in the body. Warm foods include: glutinous rice, leeks, garlic, ginger, pumpkin, chicken, pork liver, brown sugar, yam, rose, old duck, almonds, lentils, etc.
