Can red ginseng nourish the kidneys?

Red ginseng, a tonic, is now loved by more and more people. It can bring many benefits to your body after eating it. The most significant one is that it can also have a certain kidney-tonifying effect. So for some patients whose kidney function is not so good, they can eat some of this tonic to improve it, and it can also strengthen their body's resistance to a certain extent.

1. Red ginseng has an excitatory effect on the central nervous system, but in large quantities it has an inhibitory effect. It can enhance the excitation and inhibition process of higher nervous activities in animals. It can also enhance the body's adaptability to all non-specific stimuli and reduce fatigue (the roots, stems and leaves of red ginseng can prolong the duration of mice's swimming). 2. Red ginseng has a direct effect on the myocardium and blood vessels. It is generally excitatory in small doses and inhibitory in large doses. 10% red ginseng extract 1 ml/kg gavage to cats (or rabbits) has a certain improvement effect on myocardial weakness

There is considerable recovery during rewarming. It also has anti-allergic shock and cardiotonic effects. Red ginseng has an inhibitory effect on the activity of adenosine triphosphatase in rat myocardial cell membrane.

3. Strengthen the body's resistance to harmful factors:

(1) It can prevent chickens infected with malarial parasites from dying suddenly and their weight will gradually increase.

(2) It can inhibit the fever reaction of experimental animals caused by injection of milk or vaccines.

(3) It can enhance the body’s ability to adapt to temperature changes.

(4) When a dog is in critical condition due to massive blood loss or suffocation, immediate injection of red ginseng preparation can stabilize the blood pressure that has dropped to a very low level.

(5) It can prolong the survival time of mice infected with trypanosomes.

(6) It can inhibit the systemic inflammatory response caused by injection of turpentine or frostbite of rabbit ears.

(7) Promote the healing of certain experimental injuries.

(8) It has the effect of resisting vitamin B1 and B2 deficiency.

(9) It can accelerate the healing of experimental corneal ulcers in rabbits.

(10) It can weaken the effects of certain poisons (benzene, tetraethyl lead, tricresol phosphate, etc.) on the body.

4. It has the effect of lowering blood sugar in animals with hyperglycemia caused by adrenaline; in addition to improving the symptoms of diabetic patients, it also has a slight blood sugar-lowering effect and has a synergistic effect with insulin.

5. It can promote the gonad function of animals. When mice eat a small amount of red ginseng, their tails can be raised.

6. At appropriate doses, it can also increase the weight of rabbits and increase the ratio of plasma albumin to globulin.

7. Stimulate the hematopoietic organs and improve anemia.

8. Long-term use of small doses may cause hyperfunction of the reticuloendothelial system; excessive doses will have the opposite effect.
