Metastasis of gastric cancer to the peritoneum is a late-stage manifestation and can be controlled by intraperitoneal hyperthermic perfusion chemotherapy and oral chemotherapy drugs. Diagnosis is difficult due to the formation of ascites. The diagnostic methods include: abdominal puncture: pathological examination reveals detached cancer cells or atypical cells; symptoms: abdominal pain, intestinal obstruction, abdominal mass, nausea, vomiting, difficulty eating, etc.; peritoneal MRI: can clearly show the muscle layer; PET-CT: shows high metabolism. When gastric cancer develops to a certain extent, distant metastasis is common. One of the more special forms of metastasis is implantation metastasis. Implantation metastasis of gastric cancer refers to the formation of implantation metastatic cancer foci when gastric cancer cells fall off to the abdominal cavity or in the peritoneum or in the serosa of the abdominal organs below the stomach. Common sites of metastasis are the peritoneum, ovaries, and pelvic cavity. So, how should peritoneal metastasis of gastric cancer be checked? |
