Why do you get small cell lung cancer

Why do you get small cell lung cancer

The occurrence of small cell lung cancer makes people's lives unhappy. I hope everyone will have a correct understanding of small cell lung cancer. It has a fatal effect on the human body. Let us now understand why we get small cell lung cancer.

1. Smoking

Long-term smoking can lead to hyperplasia of bronchial mucosal epithelial cells, and squamous cell carcinoma or undifferentiated small cell carcinoma can be induced by squamous cell carcinoma. Although non-smokers can also develop lung cancer, adenocarcinoma is more common.

2. Air pollution

The incidence of lung cancer is high in industrially developed countries, higher in cities than in rural areas, and higher in factory and mining areas than in residential areas. The main reason is that in industrially and traffic-developed areas, the combustion of petroleum, coal, and internal combustion engines, as well as asphalt road dust, produce carcinogenic hydrocarbons containing benzopyrene, which pollute the atmosphere. Therefore, this is also one of the causes of lung cancer. Survey materials show that the incidence of lung cancer is also higher in areas with high concentrations of benzopyrene in the atmosphere. Air pollution and smoking may promote each other and play a synergistic role in the incidence of lung cancer.

3. Occupational factors

Long-term exposure to radioactive substances such as uranium and radium and their derivatives, carcinogenic hydrocarbons, arsenic, chromium, nickel, copper, tin, iron, coal tar, pitch, petroleum, asbestos, mustard gas and other substances can induce lung cancer, mainly squamous cell carcinoma and undifferentiated small cell carcinoma.

(IV) Chronic lung diseases such as tuberculosis, silicosis, and pneumoconiosis can coexist with lung cancer. The incidence of cancer in these cases is higher than that of normal people. In addition, chronic inflammation of the lung bronchi and pulmonary fibrosis scar lesions may cause squamous metaplasia or hyperplasia during the healing process, on which basis some cases may develop into cancer.

(V) Internal factors of the human body such as family heredity, reduced immune function, metabolic activity, and endocrine dysfunction.

I wish the patients a speedy recovery and a happy family.
