Key points for diagnosis of acute orchitis

Key points for diagnosis of acute orchitis. Nowadays, many men suffer from testicular cancer at a very young age. They cannot accept it at all when they find out, and they are very worried that their lives will end because of this cancer. So, let us understand the key points for diagnosis of acute orchitis.

Diagnostic methods:

1. Ultrasonic:

Ultrasound examination can accurately distinguish the size, shape, and presence of lumps in the testicles. It can also distinguish whether the swollen testicles are caused by inflammation, tissue edema, or tumors. It can also detect whether there are metastatic tumors behind the peritoneum.

2. Auxiliary examination:

Such as chest and bone X-rays, CT scans, radionuclide scanning, pyelography, experimental biochemical immunoassays, and even lymphangiography to observe or infer the scope and extent of metastasis.

3. Biopsy:

A biopsy is the only test that can confirm whether cancer is present. Most of the time, when doing a biopsy, your doctor makes an incision in the groin and removes the entire affected testicle. This procedure is called a radical inguinal orchiectomy.

4. Other inspections:

In addition to examining the scrotum, other parts of the body should also be carefully examined, especially the presence of masses in the abdomen, enlargement of the liver, edema in the lower limbs, and enlargement of the supraclavicular lymph nodes. As long as the examination is careful and thorough, the diagnosis is usually not difficult. Physical examination can touch the enlargement of the affected testicle, which is tough and heavy, and the translucency test is negative. The testicular tumor markers, human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) and alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) concentrations may be increased in the serum of patients with seminoma, choriocarcinoma, embryonal carcinoma or mixed germ cell tumor, respectively. B-ultrasound shows that the testicles are uniformly enlarged, the echo is enhanced but uneven, and the blood flow signal is strong. CT examination mainly observes the metastasis of retroperitoneal lymph nodes.

The damage caused by testicular cancer cannot be ignored, so you must be firm in your belief and do a good job of checking for various diseases. In this process, everyone should fully affirm the various manifestations of the disease, so that they can play a good role in the response process and facilitate the safe treatment of the disease.
