Is the mortality rate of testicular cancer high?

People are very afraid of the recurrence of testicular cancer, because testicular cancer represents the god of death. Under certain circumstances, the mortality rate of testicular cancer is very high. Patients are very worried about the treatment of testicular cancer. So let us understand the specific causes of testicular cancer.

What are the causes of testicular cancer? Experts explain as follows:

1. Cryptorchidism: Under normal circumstances, the testicles will descend into the scrotum at birth. If the testicles do not descend into the scrotum after birth and remain in the abdominal cavity or groin, it is called cryptorchidism, and the chance of cryptorchidism becoming cancerous will be greatly increased. Removing the cryptorchidism into the scrotum through surgery cannot change the chance of cryptorchidism becoming cancerous, but it is helpful to check and discover cancer.

2. Congenital abnormalities of testicle development: Testicles with congenital abnormalities are prone to cancer.

3. Genetic factors: The occurrence of testicular cancer is related to genetic factors.

4. Family history of testicular cancer: If there is a history of testicular cancer in the family, the chances of other men in the family getting testicular cancer will increase.

Although many data suggest that the occurrence of testicular tumors may be related to testicular trauma, endocrine disorders, genetics and infection, there is a lack of sufficient evidence. So far, the most convincing is the relationship between incomplete testicular descent (cryptorchidism) and testicular tumor occurrence. A large amount of data confirms that the malignant transformation rate of cryptorchidism, especially abdominal cryptorchidism, is much higher than that of normal descended testicles. It is 3 to 14 times the incidence rate of normal people. It is currently believed that factors such as testicular germ cell abnormalities, elevated temperature, blood supply disorders, endocrine disorders, and gonadal dysgenesis may be related to the malignant transformation of cryptorchidism. The relationship between cryptorchidism and testicular tumor occurrence has attracted the attention of scholars from various countries, emphasizing that orchiopexy before the age of 6 is an effective measure to prevent the malignant transformation of cryptorchidism, and has achieved significant results. The incidence of cryptorchidism in China is similar to that in other countries, but the proportion of cryptorchidism tumors is significantly higher than that in other countries, which may be related to the fact that China has not yet generally performed testicular traction fixation on children with cryptorchidism before school age.

Testicular cancer occurs in testicular tissue, has a complex pathological origin, and is relatively rare clinically, accounting for about 1% of all male malignant tumors. The main incidence population is young men in their fertility peak, so it has a relatively large impact on society. However, the cure rate of testicular cancer is very high, with a survival rate of 95% or even higher. Therefore, in the field of oncology, testicular cancer is a very important malignant tumor.

Warm reminder: It is better to treat the disease early rather than late, because the disease is easier to treat in the early stage, and testicular cancer is no exception. However, once testicular cancer develops to the late stage, it is quite troublesome to treat!
