Definition of biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer

Definition of biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer: Prostatitis is a common disease in adult men. About 50% of men will be affected by prostatitis at some time in their lives. Generally, young and middle-aged men under 50 years old have a higher incidence rate. This is a common disease in urology and men's health, so don't be too nervous.

The causes of prostatitis are relatively complex, and are often related to season, diet, sexual activity, urogenital tract inflammation, immune factors, occupation, and mental and psychological factors.

1. Definition of biochemical recurrence (PSA recurrence) after radical surgery: Serum PSA level ≥ 0 and 2 ng/m1 for two consecutive times was defined as biochemical recurrence (EAU).

2. Evaluation method of clinical recurrence after radical surgery The purpose of comprehensive evaluation of patients with biochemical recurrence is to determine whether the patient has clinical recurrence. If clinical recurrence has occurred, it should be determined whether it is local recurrence, regional lymph node metastasis, or distant metastasis. The appropriate treatment plan should be selected based on the results of the comprehensive evaluation.

The probability of local recurrence after radical surgery is greater than 80% in the following situations: PSA rise occurs three years after surgery;

PSADT ≥ 11 months; Gleason score ≤ 6; pathological stage ≤ pT3a.

The possibility of extensive metastasis after radical prostatectomy is greater than 80% in the following situations: PSA rises within one year after surgery; PSADT is 4 to 6 months; Gleason score is 8 to 10 points; pathological stage ≥ T3b.
