What tests should be done for colorectal cancer

Nowadays, the incidence of colorectal cancer is extremely high. In order to detect and treat the disease early, we should learn more about the common sense of the disease in our daily life and actively check when we find suspected symptoms. So, what kind of examination should be done for colorectal cancer? Today, experts will introduce to us the examination methods for colorectal cancer.

Method 1: Rectal mucus T antigen test Rectal mucus T antigen test is a commonly used examination method for colorectal cancer. This method is a simple method to detect specific markers of precancerous lesions. Just smear the liquid on the rectal finger sleeve on a special paper film or glass slide, and then use galactose oxidase reaction and Schiff's reagent for color development to determine whether the patient's intestinal mucosa expresses T antigen, thereby determining the condition.
Method 2: Serum CEA test Medical experimental results show that the serum CEA level of most colorectal cancer patients will be elevated, but the specificity of this test is not strong. In some non-digestive tract tumors and benign lesions, the serum level can also be elevated. In addition, CEA has poor sensitivity to early colon cancer and adenomatous polyps, so its use in early disease detection is not effective.
Method 3: Fecal occult blood test Generally speaking, colorectal cancer will also cause patients to have blood in their stools, which is often caused by mucosal erosion and ulceration, resulting in varying degrees of bleeding. The disease can be monitored using a simple and easy fecal occult blood test. Early fecal occult blood tests were chemical coloring methods, with commonly used reagents such as benzidine or guaiac.
