Do mosquitoes have bacteria?

Mosquitoes are common pests and an important medium for spreading diseases. There are many diseases caused by mosquitoes. Mosquitoes themselves have some bacteria. Different mosquitoes carry different bacteria and viruses. Common ones include malaria, epidemic encephalitis B, etc., which may be transmitted through mosquitoes. So try to avoid mosquito bites in your daily life.

What diseases do mosquitoes transmit?

(1) Japanese encephalitis:

The main epidemic areas are in Far East Asia and Southeast Asia. It can be seen in South my country, North China and Northeast China, with concentrated outbreaks in July, August and September. It is caused by a virus and transmitted by mosquitoes. Clinically, it develops rapidly with high fever, impaired consciousness, convulsions, tonic spasms and meningeal irritation signs. Severe patients often have sequelae after the disease.

(2) Dengue fever and dengue hemorrhagic fever:

An acute infectious disease caused by dengue virus and spread by mosquitoes. Dengue fever is characterized by fever, rash, severe muscle and joint pain, swollen lymph nodes, leukopenia, etc., with a low mortality rate; dengue hemorrhagic fever is characterized by fever, rash, bleeding, shock, etc., with a high mortality rate. It is currently mainly distributed in the southern coastal areas of my country, mostly south of the Yangtze River.

(3) Yellow fever:

It is an acute infectious disease caused by the yellow fever virus and transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. It is mainly prevalent in Africa and Central and South America. Clinical features include fever, severe headache, jaundice, bleeding, and proteinuria. This disease has not yet been found in my country.

(4) Malaria

It is an infectious disease caused by Plasmodium and spread by Anopheles mosquitoes. It is more common in summer and can occur all year round. It is more common in the Yangtze River Basin and the areas south of it in China. It can be found all over the country, but it is less common in the northern region. Clinical manifestations include intermittent chills, high fever, sweating, splenomegaly, and anemia. It can be divided into three types: vivax malaria, quartan malaria, and malignant malaria. Among them, malignant malaria can invade the internal organs and has a poor prognosis.

(5) Filariasis:

It is transmitted through mosquito bites. In my country, only Bancroftian and Bahraini filariasis are prevalent, and they are prevalent in the areas south of the Yangtze River. Filarial worms parasitize in lymphatic tissue, subcutaneous tissue or serous cavity, causing inflammation and obstruction of lymphatic vessels, forming elephantiasis, ascites, etc. Clinically, there are also filariasis fever and eosinophilic pulmonary infiltration syndrome.

(6) Kala-azar:

It is an endemic infectious disease caused by visceral Leishmania and is transmitted by the bite of sand flies.
