How to do drug chemotherapy for bladder cancer

Chemotherapy is a common treatment for various tumor diseases such as bladder cancer. During the chemotherapy process, drugs are used in combination. So, what are the chemotherapy drugs for bladder cancer? Can bladder cancer be cured?

There are many types of chemotherapy drugs for cancer, including:

1. Alkylating agents: Alkylating agents act directly on DNA to prevent cancer cells from reproducing. This type of drug is effective for chronic leukemia, malignant lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, multiple myeloma, lung cancer, breast cancer and ovarian cancer.

2. Antimetabolites: Antimetabolites interfere with the synthesis of DNA and RNA and are used to treat chronic leukemia, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, gastric cancer and colorectal cancer.

3. Antitumor antibiotics: Antitumor antibiotics interfere with DNA by inhibiting the action of enzymes and mitosis or changing cell membranes. Antitumor antibiotics are cell cycle non-specific drugs and are widely used in the treatment of cancer.

Bladder urothelial carcinoma is divided into non-muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma and muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma. Patients with non-muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma are mostly treated with transurethral bladder tumor resection, and bladder instillation is used after surgery to prevent recurrence. Patients with muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma and bladder squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma are mostly treated with total cystectomy, and some patients can be treated with partial cystectomy. Patients with muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma can also first undergo neoadjuvant chemotherapy + surgical treatment. Metastatic bladder cancer is mainly treated with chemotherapy. Commonly used chemotherapy regimens include M-VAP (methotrexate + vinblastine + doxorubicin + cisplatin) and GC (gemcitabine + cisplatin) and MVP (methotrexate + vinblastine + cisplatin). The effective rate of chemotherapy is 40% to 65%.

Bladder cancer refers to a malignant tumor that occurs on the bladder mucosa. It is the most common malignant tumor of the urinary system and one of the ten most common tumors in the body. It ranks first in the incidence of urogenital tumors in my country, and second in the West after prostate cancer.

Bladder cancer in the early stage can still be cured, but the possibility of cure in the middle and late stages is very low. Surgery is the main treatment for early bladder cancer, because there is no metastasis in the early stage, and generally the treatment effect is better. Some patients will have some complications from the surgery, or their immunity will be reduced and their body will be weak after the surgery. It can be combined with the treatment of the traditional Chinese medicine ginsenoside Rh2 (life-protecting element) to reduce the occurrence of complications, speed up the recovery of the body after surgery, and have a certain anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. In addition, it can also reduce worries about the recurrence of cancer cells. At present, there are existing literatures to support that ginsenoside Rh2 can inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells, block them in the G0/G1 phase, and induce their differentiation. Ginsenoside Rh2 with a content of more than 16% is one of the better ones.
