The dangers of skin cancer in men

Skin cancer is a relatively rare dermatological disease in our lives. The occurrence of skin cancer seriously harms the health of patients and even puts their lives in danger. We must treat this disease in a timely manner. So what are the dangers of skin cancer in men?

According to data from Cancer Research UK in 2011, 3.4 men die of skin cancer every year, while 2 women die every 100,000. Every year in the UK, 6,200 men are diagnosed with skin cancer, of which 1,300 die, while in the same period, 6,600 women are diagnosed, but only 900 die.
The research body predicts that the death rate for men will continue to rise, while the death rate for women will remain stable. Dr Julia, a dermatologist at Cancer Research UK at the University of Leeds, confirmed: "The research shows that the difference between the sexes is mainly because men are more likely to be diagnosed with melanoma at a later stage. However, there seems to be some biological genetic factors as well, and we are working to better understand how the male and female bodies deal with melanoma differently. We have already found that men and women have different skin cancer presentations, with men more likely to develop melanoma on their backs and chests, while women develop melanoma on their arms and legs. If a melanoma is on your back, it might be a good idea to ask your partner to check your back for you."
Sarah Stuart, director of Cancer Research UK, said: "Melanoma tumours are often caused by excessive exposure to ultraviolet sunlight, pale skin or a personal or family history of the disease.
The most important part is that we need to understand what the healthiest skin looks like, so that it is easier to find the difference. At the same time, in the hot summer, especially on sunny days, we need to take care of our skin and avoid sunburn. Sunburn is a very obvious precursor because the DNA in the skin cells has been completely damaged, which is likely to lead to skin cancer over time.
What are the dangers of skin cancer in men? Through the above introduction, we can clearly understand that the occurrence of skin cancer will have a very serious impact on patients and friends, so if this disease occurs in life, we must seek treatment in time to avoid serious harm.
