Rectal cancer gene detection and treatment

Rectal cancer gene detection and treatment

In the treatment of rectal cancer, staged treatment is generally the main reason. That is to say, in the early stage of the disease, surgical resection is mainly used, but it is generally based on minimally invasive technology. Traditional open abdominal treatment is relatively rare. In the case of early resection, the prognosis of the disease is still relatively ideal. The following is an introduction to the specific common treatment measures for rectal cancer:

1. Radiotherapy is suitable for advanced cancer that cannot be operated on or for irradiation before or after surgery. Irradiation can shrink tumors, increase surgical resection rates, and reduce local recurrence rates.

2. Chemotherapy is suitable for auxiliary treatment before and after surgery or for patients who cannot undergo surgery.

3. Laser treatment is suitable for rectal cancer patients who are elderly, frail, or have medical diseases and are not suitable for or unwilling to undergo surgery. Laser can directly vaporize and coagulate tumors, which helps relieve symptoms of intestinal obstruction.

4. The principle of surgical treatment is to completely remove the rectum and the surrounding lymph areas where metastasis may occur, in an effort to achieve a radical cure.

5. Cryotherapy is suitable for low-position rectal cancer that is not suitable for surgery or that is unwilling to undergo surgery. Cryotherapy can achieve clinical cure for early and middle-stage cancers, and can reduce bleeding, relieve pain, relieve obstruction and prolong survival for late-stage cancers.

Clinical data show that if rectal cancer is in the early stages without metastasis or other complications, the survival rate after surgical resection can generally reach about 90%. However, the later the stage, the lower the cure rate. This shows that the most critical factor in the treatment of malignant tumors is whether the treatment is timely.
